If I do what he says, then I’ll be doing what he said I shouldn’t do.

If I don’t do what he says, then I should let others tell me what to do which means I should do what he says, But if I do what he says, then I’ll be doing what he said I shouldn’t do.

Good advice, be yourself as everyone else is already taken!

Just fumble and bumble around like everyone else. Sh!t happens, so go with the flow. Too much unachievable planning and goals can drive you crazy.

My wonderful Grandmother, who was a great observer, from a small town in Minnesota, bought me a coffee cup when I was in college. She handed it to me and said “This is you”. The cup said “Conform and Be Dull”. At that age, I didn’t think she was that observant, but from then on I never thought of her in the same way. Funny, wise, and full of character.

Given the choice between being true to yourself and doing what’s expected of you, well, that’s no choice at all is it?

Oh, you betcha. Especially if you have to pay them. If they pay you, some consideration before rejecting might be useful.

Best advice ever.

This reminds me of the “South Park” episode where the Church determined that a particular rabbit was the successor to St. Peter (who also had been a rabbit). However the rabbit didn’t give the Priests guidance. One Priest asked the rabbit “What should we say when we are telling people how to live their lives?”. “St. Peter” said nothing!

Reminds me of how every band by the 1990’s was playing “alternative music.”
