Doesn’t matter. The clothes aren’t that dirty anyway. They’ll last a couple weeks longer without being washed.

That’s a common question. Both have knobs surrounded with words, but only one will have the word RINSE written on it (usually several times). That is the DRYER. Off you go! Good luck!

(Yes, I know what some of you are thinking, but it’s really just tough love. Or sick comedy. I always get those confused.)

I’ve heard there are combination washer/dryer laundry machines. You just have to turn some knob in order to turn it into whichever machine.

It’s actually easy: The washer smells like a rotten sock that’s stuck in its exit tube. The dryer smells like when the cat threw up in there when the dog lured it in and turned it on.

Yes; the drier has four wires between T-posts and is outside.

I had an ex husband who never did anything around the house. When he moved out I had to go to his place and show him how to turn on the oven and cook a frozen pizza!

All this makes me realize even more how wonderful my hubby was. He could not only do the laundry when needed but the shopping AND was a wonderful cook. I was blessed with my man and glad I had him with me for nearly 55 years.

Just throw the laundry in one machine, if it comes out warm and smelly, throw it in the other machine. Works every time.

Serious answer: the washer opens on the top, the dryer opens on the front. (This only works for home machines; the ones in laundromats have no such rules.)

this faux ignorance would get Earl a boot in the patootie around here. . .Ya know, Opal and Grandma on Grand Ave. should get together, and have classes with Earl and the twins. . .let them make labels for all the machinery in the house, then write direx for using them . .

The washer runs water and the dryer doesn’t. Turn them on and you’ll find out.

According to custom, the dryer is always on the right. That’s why the door on a front loading washing machine hinges on the left and the dryer door hinges on the right, to facilitate moving the wash into the dryer.

I have a wife who hates housework. I mean despises it. She is a good cook. In all of our years of marriage, she has never done housework…but then I never cook. Not all men are lazy or do not help with housework. With two household incomes needed these days, the majority help when needed to. You say men do not help? I do not see women mowing a lawn, or shoveling snow, or fixing things, or doing heavy lifting. Some women do it, but are not noticed..just like men are never noticed for what they actually do.

While my parents were very much of their generation, especially concerning gender roles, I am grateful they were at least forward thinking enough that I learned laundry, ironing, and sewing at an early age (and I must assume that She is grateful,, as well……).

Once we were tall enough to see the bottom of a skillet on the stove, my mother taught us how to cook breakfast. And cereal did not count as a good breakfast. She stopped cooking breakfast for us but am still doing so.

When I came back from an absence of a few days our kitchen floor was immaculate. After I congratulated him, my honest husband admitted that he used the dishwasher and didn’t realize there was some special soap, so he just filled the little dispenser with Dawn. He said the suds on the kitchen floor were 6 inches deep.

When we combined our families, my husband stopped picking up after himself … didn’t lift a finger to do anything. Our combined children were told (by me) to leave anything that was Daddy’s where it was. After about three weeks of not picking up a thing, he actually complained to me about how messy the house was. I pointed out that it was his stuff and no one else’s. Things went uphill from there!
