We always say that our chihuahua, Max, says, “Yup! Mama birfed me!” because he was only a couple months old when we rescued him from being a . . . BAIT DOG!!!
He was so little he needed to be fattened up before he could be neutered! (Now, like me, my dad and his mini shar pei sister, we’re ALL fat! D_mn over-reacting bodies!)
My brother Howard always told everyone that he was adopted. I think he did this to disassociate himself from Raymond and me. The problem was that he and Raymond looked too much alike and I was the one with reddish hair. People thought I was the one making the claim to be adopted and kept trying to straighten me out by telling me they were there when I was born. It must have been a very crowded delivery room back at Tuberville Memorial in Century. He told a classmate he came from a good family. My concurrence followed:
“Yep, BastardSonOfAnEnglishNobleman.”
Another time he claimed to come from religious parents.
“Yep, his father was a Jewish rabbi and his mother was a Catholic nun.”
Sorry, Roscoe! But that’s technically, how I got all my cats. From the Humane Society. Except, for two Aja and Kimber! Aja, I got her from one of my hairdresser’s customers, who found her in Garden City Park, with her two sisters. And I got Kimber, from a lady in Southfield. She was trying to find all her cats a new home.

I adopted a rescue zebra. She is beautiful and I love her, but housebreaking is more difficult than I had anticipated.

The mere thought that Roscoe thought he was born from a human is funny, weird, and gross, all at the same time.
