I look with dismay upon all the books I’ve acquired over the years. At least they fit into boxes. But I now need bigger boxes to contain the boxes. It would be best to start winnowing them down, but the very thought hurts. I suspect a re-sale store will just throw them away, as they are mainly paperbacks — economical but aging.
Just looked over the treadle sewing machine my brother has sitting in his basement. The drawers are in great shape, varnish is still perfect. Came with the house almost fifty years ago. If I polished it up, where would I put it? But it’s too nice to just sit there…

Earl doesn’t just take up space. Taking up space is one of the most obvious and productive things he does.

I would think the boomer generation’s downsizing would be a treasure trove for the younger generations, and their use of social media market places.
