If your cat doesn’t eat what you feed it right away, don’t just (try to) spice it up right away. Unless there are some other symptoms, just wait and let it get hungry enough that it will eat what has been provided.
OH. MY GAWD. Our three feel it is their inalienable right to sniff ad taste ANYTHING that is being served on the counter, on the stove, or at the table. One of them MUST have a taste of everything; his current fav is a piece of gingersnap. Oddly enough, none of them like sugar. . .
@norphos – and what bubble gum wrapper did you read that on? Black pepper is NOT toxic to cats. It can cause irritation if they eat too much but it’s not going to kill them. For the love of SCIENCE people please fact check your nonsense before spreading lies like a GOP nutjob.

Looked this one up. Black pepper isn’t toxic to cats but can cause discomfort. Onions and garlic are listed as hazardous though

No, dear. YOU’ll need it to eat Muffins dish while she enjoys your salmon and shrimp hollandaise gratin.

They all love their salt even though it’s not good for them. Pepper not so much.

Oh, this is the epitome of the cat owner! Bending over backward to do anything for their cat (and the correct image of myself!).
