Which came first – the Newton or the Apple? The Fruit or the Computer? The Laptop or the Headache?

How ‘bout a good “boink” instead of “paf”? Can’t go wrong with a well timed boink!

Why does Newton have an X on his shirt? Oh, I see… Ralph thinks Newton’s a twit.

Maybe PAF is a coded message about where Dave’s captors are keeping him and why there have been two Days by Dave without Dave this week. Or maybe Dave just likes messing with us.

Yo Isaac, the laptop goes on top of your lap… not your head!

I mean, it’s right there in the name!

    You’re welcome.

    EUREKA!

    Don Martin sound effect alert:

PAF was used by Don in Mad Magazine #70, dated April 1962. It’s the sound effect of a huge extension-arm-launched boxing glove hitting a Doctor in the face …!

( thanks to Doug Gilford, madcoversite . kom )

First thing that came to mind when I saw the comic,

“In London lies a knight A Pope interred.

His labor’s fruit a Holy wrath incurred.

You seek the orb that ought be on his tomb.

It speaks of Rosy flesh and seeded womb."

For extra credit, can you name the source without looking it up on the Web?
