I think kids today are figuring out who they are younger than my generation did — which is wonderful: it gives them more of their lives to live as their authentic selves.
Agreed. I wouldn’t want to go back to my 20s for anything. But if there was one age that I could stay forever, it would be 33. At that point, you’re still physically young enough to do the things you were doing in your 20s, but you’re old enough that older adults treat you like a “real“ adult.
30s are as overrated at 20s. 50s and 69s are better. 70s aren’t bad either (except for failing eyesight, wonky knees, and young whippersnappers who mumble so you can’t understand a word they’re saying.)
One of the worst and scariest lies adults told me when I was a kid was “These are the best years of your life.” Childhood was awful. My teens were pretty bad. But every decade since has gotten gradually better, and now life is actually good.
I don’t know that I would want to go back, but my 20’s were great. No complaints here. I was a bit of a dumb@ss, but still, it was a great time in my life. It helped to make me the person I am today. I’m not sure if I’ll ever grow up though.
I’ll be 62 in 10 days, and I’m the happiest I can ever remember being. But wait a few months and it could all go tits-up. It changes day to day, month to month, regardless of age, depending on my health and how well I’m getting along with coworkers, friends and family. On the whole, the trajectory has been positive!

Once youre 30 you can do what ever you want like play videogames for as long as you want! But do you have the time and money to play halo 24-7?

You can do the adulting stuff while on the inside, a part of you still retains that feeling of never having grown up.
