Is Breen another of those who fails to get the difference between investing in our future and buying glitzy big toys for our present? Which would you think gets more value for the money, building a good educational system nationwide or making another military jets? The price tags are amazingly similar.
Biden isn’t proposing to saddle our grandkids with all this debt. He’s proposing paying for it by raising taxes on the rich a bit closer to where they used to be. (Nowhere near as far as they were for most of the 20th Century, though.)
Breen may be too influenced by the Navy’s economic impact on his home turf of San Diego. Taxing billionaires and wealthy corporations is a much better gift to our future generations.
Didn’t realize that the kid is actually Mark Zuckerberg. Rich guys like him are going to have to pony up more than the paltry 15 percent they’ve been paying while we pay 20-25.
That kid should be thanking Joe. Because of his infrastructure plan, there will be a functioning country to live in. Republicans LOVE this plan, by the way, as long as 1) They get to condemn it and vote against it, AND 2) They get to take credit for it when it succeeds.
You’re looking the wrong way, Mr. Breen. Joe is looking at the rich, and the super rich, and corporations that pay nothing in taxes. And you know that.
Burger joints are paying people $50 just to show up for an interview and start at $13.50 per hr.) LinkedIn, indeed, ZipRecruiter, and local employment centers have tons of jobs ready for those willing to work. So why is Biden trying to throw 6 trillion at what is already an over-heated economy? Why does he not focus on finding a real long term solution for immigration… Something that will require serious work, negotiation and compromise on all sides?Homelessness is at a crisis stage – Its complicated and its sources need to be understood and addressed. Instead of Biden trying to find White Supremacists hiding under every bed in America, why doesn’t he focus on trying to find solutions to the homeless crisis? Something that would surely get strong bi-partisan support.
After the changes to the law that Trump (okay McConnell) made, the deficit is sky rocketing. Joe Biden is proposing changes which will likely turn it around such that it will start declining again.
1 Trillion $+ added to Federal debt by Trump’s tax cut that he and Moscow Mitch forced through. How many more billions wasted on Wall of Shame that never had a chance to be completed.

We will be leaving a functional infrastructure for the future population. Then they won’t have to go back to the caves.

Biden wants to invest in America’s future, not just spend money on comfy cushions for the people who already have the fattest @$$es in the nation.

Right wingers are simple liars, mostly (some aren’t quite so simple). Their three lies about taxes and spending are very simple:
1: When anybody in the 99% gains something without a disproportionate larger short term gain for the 1%, its “bad”.
2: Any time the 1% gains something without much gain for the rest of us, it’s “good”.
3: There isn’t any third lie (about this).

If we don’t fix things now, it will be much costlier when our children have to deal with it.

Mr. Breen will not let mere “facts” stand in the way of a cute picture for the Right to obsess over.

Republicons didn’t see any problem starting expensive wars and giving tax cuts for the rich. What’s their problem?
tabby about 3 years ago
This could be paid for by removing the tax breaks for the rich and the increase in the military budget from the previous administration.

Repubs are all about cutting income and increasing spending. Dems at least want to increase income for their spending.
