Okay I’ve been annoyed by most of Evie’s floating and actions towards the puppy thing. She lives in the house. If the girls don’t take care of the dog…who do you think also has to pitch in. But this…yeah this is just nonsense
“How bad could she be?” Famous Last Words, m’girl, Famous Last Words. Big dogs will lie down and sleep. Small dogs will zoom around at barely subsonic speeds, climb everything, jump into what they can’t climb, and treat everything as a chew toy.
And this explains why her kids are so bad, why she lets mom and sister live with her. She has absolutely no clue. My dogs are trained, we can leave them for 5 or 6 hours in the house or RV. They don’t chew anything but their toys, they don’t make messes.
My sister’s puppy was locked in the half bath for less than an hour. Managed to clog the sink with toilet paper (from the roll) turn the faucet on and flood the room. Fortunately the water in the hall ran outside. Unfortunately it also ran from the bathroom into the finished basement.
My daughter once stayed at my home for me and watched my two well behaved beagles so I could go away for a few days. She brought along her Jack Russell, and I said he had to be in a crate. When I got home, my daughter was waiting for me. She was a bit scared, which is highly unusual for her. She told me she didn’t want to ruin my trip, so she didn’t tell me before I got home. She showed me. Her Jack had somehow opened the crate and shredded my carpeting for about 20 feet. She had tried to put duct tape over it. I knew that I had to replace all the carpeting in my condo since it’s pretty open concept. I also knew she could not afford it. I told her that I hadn’t planned to keep the builder grade carpeting that long anyway. They aren’t very big dogs, but they are highly intelligent, very strong, and usually quite dominant, too. They are also cute, sweet, and loveable. I will always miss him. I had only lived here a couple of years.
Years ago we got a jack russell rescue who ended up having another year of life (probably found after some major accident with unknown damage etc.). So here comes into our lives the little guy with very strongy paws [we learned]. One day a few days after his arrival, we went shopping and left our other two dogs and him alone missing their dinner time by a little, running late. For years and years our dogs were very good mannered and ate whenever we put their food bowls out. This day we walked into a ripped open big bag of dog food in the middle of the floor that had been unopened on the top of the fridge when we left. Someone told me that jack russells can jump straight up four feet from the floor. I get this day’s script. Paws can do alot, believe me.

how on earth can a puppy that size open the upper cabinet door, open the water faucet or run the can opener?

She needs my dog! Amazing! Oh yeah, when he was a puppy he chewed the carpet but he was pretty young then, 2-4 months old.

Some people have cages because of this problem. I think it is time to take Biscuit to a training class.

Try using a crate. It’s safe and it is her safe area.
