Turns! Tank asked 1st and never took it back——so this is a nice variation of yes.

My wife’s fantasy was to propose to her future spouse. I said I would wait. And she did.

Perfect. Based on everything we had seen of Barb up to now, this is how it had to go down. She needs to be in control (not controlling Tank, but of her own life).

I never really proposed to my wife. It started as a joke on the couple that introduced us that we decided it wasn’t working out and were breaking up and when they got all ticked off at us we told them the joke is on them we were actually thinking about getting married and the next thing I knew I was looking at rings. Almost 44 years later still together.

This is leap year, when the ladies can propose to the men (traditionally). My wife proposed to me in 1976. She wanted to get away from her parents.

Word of advice: DO NOT get married on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14). My wife and I did in 1989. Her desire and I agreed (after all, a calendar date’s a calendar date, right?)

Turns out February 14 is not the optimal date to celebrate your wedding anniversary. Restaurants are all crowded, flowers are more expensive, etc. Some date after the March equinox would serve you much better.

Women have more say in matrimonial matters than is commonly realized, through encouragement/discouragement and other “wiles”.
