Think I mentioned it before, but on a reality show, Clyde Drexler demonstrated how hard it would be for going from basketball to hockey! (at least if you can’t skate)
There’s the famous quote from boxer Joe Frazier from one of the ABC Superstars competitions (for those non-boomers out there, it pitted athletes from numerous sports against one another in events outside their specialties). After Frazier nearly drowned in a 50 meter swimming heat, his reaction was “That Mark Spitz is a tough mutha******!”
There are videos on social media with athletes trying different sports. With the Olympics coming, I’ve been seeing male and female gymnasts trying to switch elements. Good for a laugh. Some college soccer players also embarrassed themselves trying to do gymnastics and were good sports about it
LeBron James could easily be a tight end in the NFL if he cared to be smacked upside the head for 3+ hours a week instead of being this era’s greatest NBA player
Used to love to tease my students with the fact that Michael Jordon, the Babe Ruth of basketball, never got above Double A in baseball. They would answer, “Who’s Babe Ruth?”

I remember Bob Gibson was asked if Jordan could hit a curveball. He replied, “Maybe, if he used a surf board.”
