Since the lions could not have been following the scent of the men, the two are just randomly roaming through the streets looking for anyone stupid enough to wonder if the lion alert (initiated by the sound of the gong, hours earlier) is still in effect. You hope all the citizens have a stocked fridge & indoor toilets.

(Lions aren’t bloodhounds, they don’t trail an individual scent. Even if they were like bloodhounds they wouldn’t have been given the scent of these two men. And in a city where thousands of humans are walking around every day they smell of humans would be too strong to identify the individual smell.)

Tarzan: “Thank you, the writer of this strip! Two more lions to kill…”

Well I was wondering where the lions are…

Apparently, the lion doesn’t sleep tonight. A word to the wise, puddy tat – with Tarzan running around, you’d be better off home and in bed.

If Panel 1 was a “That’s Priceless!” cartoon, it would be titled “Great Moments in Phallic Portraiture”. In panel 3 either the lion is much closer to us than the man or else the lion is about the size of a Gorean larl.

Two elephants mention Tarzan in today’s “Animal Crackers” here on GoComics. One of them mentioned being late because he gave Tarzan a ride home.
