There’s a thought. He’ll have both games and fresh air.

With the forthcoming Minos anticyclone the air isn’t that fresh.

Surgeon General put out a strong warning today. But parents use social media to keep their kids occupied. Rather than being involved. You see it in parents giving a baby a smart tablet to entertain him/her self. Glad I grew up poor!

Tell him and don’t take ‘no’ for an answer.

My son played them with a time allowance. Now he works on military trainers, design and testing and gets paid for playing them all day long. When he’s not in meetings or traveling. The odds just work out so that some people have to get their dream job. If he ever gets fired I think he’d pay them to let him continue to go to work.

With a cord long enough the voltage will drop to the point where he won’t be able to play his games.

We played all day. Sometimes we would go home for lunch, but most of the time we were in the woods climbing trees and playing either army or cowboy & Indians.

If Brutus wants his son outside enjoying the fresh air, he should take him outside and practice throwing the baseball, or punting, or wrestling, or doing anything with his son while outside.

Great idea – and funny! Really Brutus has a firm grasp on the realities. A show of force will just create hostility. Brutus doesn’t need another adversary in his life.

I gotta say, even when I was a kid, when it got hot and humid I found better things to do inside than out… reading, f’rinstance

Playing outside is a great idea if the boy has friends with whom to play. I never liked playing outside by myself.

I was #2 of 5 boys, with 20 years separating the oldest and the youngest. There was always someone to go outside and play with, whether it was with a ball, a frisbee, or tag, or go to the nearest park, or ride bikes with. If you are an only child, I assume it’s harder. Of course, at least you know where he is, he’s not getting hurt or in trouble….ahem. Oh the stories I could tell of me and my brothers…

i smile now to think that dear ol’ dad accidentally taught me to love and prefer being outdoors by forcing us kids to do chores outside while he sat inside watching the ballgame. i resented it at the time, but now i prefer being out in the fresh air… ☺

I grew up in the age of “stranger danger” and the Atlanta child murders. I think mom was afraid something would happen to me, so I pretty much had to stay home during the summer. She’d even call home randomly and I’d better answer the phone.

When they bought him the game, that is when the rules should have been set down. For now, just take away the remote and tell him to go outside. Who’s in charge? If nothing else, Wilberforce can take poor old Kewpie for a walk. They could all go.
