10 years ago Elon claimed that Tesla tech was for rent for anyone also wanting to help change the world to less polution = open minded and caring. Was that just a ruse or when did he lose it all and became just another wealthy narcissist?

I “like” this in that it is well done and thought provoking. I cannot bring myself to hit “like” though, at this horrifying situation.

George Bush’s grandfather worked for Standard Oil and sold oil additives to the scumbag nazi’s. Without it, the German war machine would have ground to a halt. Henry Ford’s company operated a secret assembly plant in Germany. Both committed treason against our country, and instead of going to prison. They were nicely asked by congress to “Knock it off, we have a war to win”My Grandfather fought in North Africa, Italy, and finally Germany. The first thing he noticed as he stepped off of his landing craft onto Anzio beach, was that the Germans were driving new ford trucks! He never forgot this and would go the rest of his life boycotting any ford products!

Let’s hope the US has a backup plan, we can’t rely on international businesses to support our interests … and if we do have a backup plan, why didn’t we supply it to Ukraine? …and if we don’t, we’ve learned what to expect from our American oligarch and invest in other options…

I read Trading With the Enemy a few years ago. So true and appropriate. BTW, Musk justifies it as preventing the weaponizing of a non-weapon resource. Back in the 40s, the oil companies used shell partners to deliver oil to the Nazis.

Ford, like most wealthy people, was a fascist. Fascism appeals to the wealthy because they like a political system that they can use to gain direct power that they can use to subjugate the real people to protect their wealth.

I wish Elon Musk had never said he was autistic. Way to make the rest of us look bad, Elon! I also wish Reuben would draw a cartoon defending autistic people (or other people with disabilities) but I’m afraid that will never happen.

Now that I know a bit more about his father and grandfather, and 50’s South Africa, his war against “wokeness” is beginning to make more sense. And the Republican party and Texas are natural hanitats for neo-fascist authoritarians, so that fits.

Musk gave the Ukrainians Starlink in the first place. Imperial wars, including those of the US, are funny things. Hard to tell who paid off who. The US taxpayer already lost 150 billion on this one, and counting.

It’s why you need a government to protect your God given rights. Not to decide what rights you have.

when Russia destroyed Ukraine’s internet Elon brought hundreds of star link dishes mostly for free to restore their communications.His rules always limited their use to Ukrainian controlled areas. He wanted them to provide communications not remote control of weapons. They were never turned on for the areas controlled by the Russians.The Ukrainians asked that they be turned on so that they could remotely control drone submarines to sink dozens of Russian ships probably killing thousands of people. This would make Starlink a legitimate target for Russian attacks and possibly lead to escalation of the war. The US government certainly has the ability to provide secure communications to the Ukrainians for this purpose but has not done so. The Ukrainians asked him for something he had never promised them and now he is being accused of being a traitor when all he has done is help Ukrain.If the US declares war on Russia and then Elon refuses to help you might have a point.

Pity that Bolling turns out to be an establishment liberal. Sucker.
