Sterling always turns up like a bad penny

I love Seagull’s expression in the 4th and 5th panels. He knew Sterling was bad news from the moment he saw him.

Could’ve taken care of that unibrow while you were shearing. Sterling is fake sleeping. Everyone know he really sleeps with his eyes open.

Sterling across the multiverse …..

Not as dark and satanic, but a little more confusing. How did he get covered in wool?

We have an Amish family next door, they raise sheep. Usually the sheep just sit there, every day, eating grass and doing their sheepy thing, growing hair. Then one day they all disappear, only to reappear the next day all de-wooled and looking, ahem, sheepish.

I wonder why the old farmer is the only one (including the sheep!) not to look surprised? What does he know? Although seagull looks simply angry – maybe he understood what the farmer knows as soon as he saw Sterling!

Will Henry should do a book solely based on the plethora of Sterling origins! It would sell, I say! … :)

I think this Sterling origin story is my favorite so far. Simple and straightforward yet effective!

I still like the Calvin & Hobbes version: C: Dad, where do babies come from? D: well, most people get the kit from Sears and follow the instructions. C: I CAME FROM SEARS? D: no, you were a blue light special at KMart – almost as good and a lot cheaper. (it does explain a few things, of course…)

OMG I love all these origin stories…

So Seagull has been around since before Sterling became part of the family? That’s a long life span for a bird. Or is the current Seagull his/her kid?

Or is Wallace’s Seagull friend like Jonathan Livingston Seagull, with the ability to travel in space and time at will?

Even the sheep were surprised!
