Ah! So nice to go hiking in a woods so large that at some point you don’t know exactly where you are! Better yet if you know how to keep going in one direction and you know there’s only a couple miles in each direction before you hit a road or developed property. And you’re young and healthy enough that hiking a few miles is just good exercise. And there are ripe berries along the way.
If you look below the comments, there is a Wallace book for sale titled Are We Lost Yet? with a cover picture that seems to be from this current sequence. Have we been here before?
If they stay in the small town, there will probably be little other options. Besides Spud and Amelia are going to get married and Rose is going to marry Wallace.
Fortunately, this isn’t the first time they’ve gotten lost, so since they keep getting lost again suggests they do have a trend of finding their way back eventually (or somebody else finds them).
Is Rose too young to be given a phone with navigation app on which she tracks every step of all available daily paths? If she were carrying such a thing today, I’m sure she’d be using the Nature app that identifies any plant or animal you point it at.

Rose is learning. Amelia is way past that stage, and Spud just keeps on stepping in it.

“Into the Woods”
Just watch out for the witch who lives in a gingerbread house, that could be a Grimm encounter.

I wonder how big Snug Harbor is. Big enough so Wallace hasn’t wandered all of it yet.

I’m surprised Amelia would let the seagull cuddle with her.

Yeah, they’ll stay together. Remember when Spud and Wallace met “future” Spud, Wallace, and Amelia down at the docks?

Wallace is waving a milkweed. I remember them when I lived in New Hampshire.
