If you want to attract vultures, this might work … but it works better if there’s meat still on the bones.

A tad bit morbid for so early the first cup of coffee is barely sipped.

The Parsi (Zoroastrian) community used to hang their dead in sort of a dry well (Parsi Tower of Silence or “Dakhma” as what they call it) so that vultures would finish off their remains. These were their funeral rites called “Dokhmenashini”. I am not sure, but I believe they do not do this anymore.

Yeah, it needs to be refilled. The vultures have picked that skeleton clean.

I just got around to swapping out the hanging flower baskets to our winter bird feeder.

I want one, but Lowes and Home Depot don’t sell them. This calls for a road trip back in time.

At this time of the year the black vultures leave the Everglades to hang around on the coast. Seeing 30 or more in a neighbor’s tree is not unusual.

I was a kid pretending to be asleep under a crochet blanket and watched the movie Excalibur through the holes. The hanging tree scene near the end with the crows picking out knights eyeballs gave me nightmares.

Well, we now know a bird feeder the squirrels will be staying away from…
