Cassie and Murray from the old days! Glad to see The Lone Shark follow on. Now the last strips take on a new meaning. The big reunion! What will come of it??

Why is Arlo saying “Really, Cassie?”

My husband loves well and done—and I mean done—no pink at all anywhere.

I am medium rare myself.

So I put his on, leaving mine in the marinade for a good 5-10 minutes, then put mine on. They are both done when mine is done.

Murray and Cassie hooked up?! Didn’t expect that.

So the house clean and shopping strips were a follow on from the excellent “loan shark” story to today’s meet up – brilliant, well done!

Cassie still doesn’t think it will last.

Is Cassie here to eat steak or crow?

Who saw that coming?

I have one friend from college who I still know and see on a regular basis.

Which came first: Arlo and Janis or Harry and Sally?

Wow, time has been kind to Janis and cruel to Cassie!

Anything more done than medium rare is just a waste of a good steak.

Did Murray work in the campus book store as well? Is that an eye patch? Also white wine with well done steak? Yikes.

A coworker and I were getting some steak at Ben’s Pizza and Steak in Paul’s Valley, OK while on a job. When the waitress asked him how he wanted his, he replied “I want it run through a warm kitchen by somebody wearing tennis shoes.”

we didn’t get to see Cassie and Murray get together back then.

Restaurants will give a lesser piece of steak to someone who wants it well done because it will end up like eating a shoe anyway. I am a little prejudiced, since I like mine rare. Very rare.

Cassie was Janis’s troublesome friend in college.

Judging form Murray’s eye roll in panel 4 he has been through this before. Be that as it may it is her steak after all.

I have a lot of friends that were my wife’s friends and my friends who were mine during those high school/college days. Still listen to the oldies in music, and retell a lot of the same old stories from 50+ years. Sadly, some are no longer with us, well only in memories.

Thank you A&J posters! I did not catch the Murray and Cassie references. That’s awesome. Such a great strip and an equally great group of fans.

You can see it as your steak, Cassie, but it is my grill and I’ll not commit an atrocity on it.

I can’t believe they stayed friends with Cassie. She seems very unpleasant.

I share Robin’s perplexity. I was really enjoying the pre-marital flashback sequence, and then suddenly it (apparently) ended. Who are these people, where did they come from, and where did the continuity go? & love Arlo & Janis, and the gags are good, but I must say I like the continuities better.

I may lose some flavor, but I want all my parasites well cooked ere I eat ’em.

You know what I am thinking? I think (1) Cassie had a thing for Arlo and Janis got him first. Or. (2) She got involved with Murray and isn’t happy but Arlo and Janis are.

This is fun—bringing this up to the present after the backstory.

Because it is a criminal act to barbecue a steak “well done”. He’s just being nice to avoid her being embarrassed by the cackling, finger pointing purists.

I’m not even a little bit happy about this turn of events. I hated the bitch in the college flashbacks.

So Murray and Cassie wound up together? Haha! Brilliant finish JJ!!!!!!

So that’s what all the cleaning and filet buying on Monday and Tuesday was about!

I’d guess that Arlo only has two speeds for grilling: barely alive and burnt sacrifice.

To paraphrase a Seinfeld character, “NO STEAK FOR YOU !” What a peasant.

So Cassie married the other “Art Store” clerk.
