Looks like someone needs to get those kids attention. My SIL never took her kids to any sit down restaurants when they were little. I suppose her husband and herself didn’t want to get embarrassed.
I have made some mothers ecstatically happy by whispering a compliment on how well-behaved their children were when the moms pass my table on their way to the washroom.
In my traveling days, I brought my shih tzu to sit-down restaurants (YES, in a travel kennel which he NEVER left!). I’d slip little nibbles from my plate to him, and he stayed quiet & well-behaved.
One time, when our girls were around 6 & 8, we went to have lunch at a popular buffet place that we frequented. The place was almost empty when we got there. Soon after, a couple came in. The hostess (a friend of ours) went to seat them near us. They looked at us & asked to be seated somewhere else, not near young children. While the hostess did assure them that our girls were well-behaved, she moved them across the room. Soon after the place started filling up. A family with 3 very rambunctious boys came in & the only place to seat them was in the booth adjacent to them. We saw them looking over at us, with our girls sitting nicely, chatting quietly with us.
Never had any problems with my three girls taking them to a restaraunt. Maybe it had somethingto do with instilling manners and proper behavior in them.
“They pull a bacon strip, you pull a pork chop. They send one of yours to the rest room, you send one of theirs out of the restaurant. That’s the MacPherson way!”
We would take our kids to Chuck E. Cheese on Sunday morning just as they opened. We would get them a bunch of tokens so they could run themselves ragged while my wife and I enjoyed the Sunday paper and some light conversation.
After the pizza arrived, the place got crowded and we would go home. By then the kids were worn out, so my wife and I could enjoy some more light conversation.
To just sit there and let your kids behave like that?? No respect for those there who are trying to enjoy a meal they’re paying for. Daryl should pay their check.

You are supposed to throw free food. Dad may reevaluate the cost of eating there.

It’s probably the only restaurant that will have them.

Ah yes, I don’t remember it well. Maybe because we engaged our kid in conversation and activities like they were big people.

Lordy, I miss the 70’s, when there so many of us latter-day Baby Boomers to form a food-fight squad!!

What’s the matter, kids? Can’t take what you dish out?

In other words, it’s the only restaurant in the entire state they’re still allowed to dine at!

Must be a fast food restaurant with the indoor play area. I avoid those like the plague.

And they have an animatronic animal band and free games to play. The pizza tastes like cardboard, but it keeps the kids out of our hair for a while.

If our kids tried that in a restaurant it would be a very long time before they saw the inside of one again.

When my son was that young he was content with a crayon and the place mat for coloring, sometimes it’s a pencil and connect the dots.

We were very lucky, outside of my son asking other diners embarrassing questions, they were pretty good!
