That looks like a pre-Segway. The local police that patrol the down area used to walk or ride a small bicycle. Good exercise either way. Now they’ve begun using Segways. (Now I’m curious as to what they cost and where does a person buy one.)

The trend is in the opposite direction.

In 1906 the Royal Navy launched the HMS Dreadnought. It was the world’s first modern battleship and made all other battleships, including those in the Royal Navy, obsolete. Every nation was now exactly one battleship short of the Royal Navy and this sparked an arms race where each country was vying to build bigger an bigger battleships.

The same thing is happening with SUVs. The bigger they are, the safer they are (better crash test ratings) – for those in them. Your children will be safe, but those in the vehicle you obliterate with your sheer displacement tonnage won’t be as fortunate.

In war, there has always been a battle between armor and armor piercing. I’m looking for some reactive armor to put on my sedan.

Smart cars / driverless cars are pricing themselves out of the market. That’s why Ford, GM and others have decided to stop making cars and concentrate on expensive SUVs and trucks. Sooner or later someone is going to reinvent the affordable car that actually is a car and not some robotic computer on wheels.

Look there goes one of those Smart-less Wheels. You know the standard wheels gets better mileage. Those little things were, outclassed by the hybrid wheel. That little thing was obsolete before it rolled off the lot. It can roll?? Well as Thor would say “There’s a Sucker Born Every Minute”. He told him no one would Ridicule him! Ha HA Hee HE.

I live in the country. Want to see how long a driverless car handles county roads or what it does when it gets stuck halfway up a slushy driveway. And BTW you can turn a minivan around in a narrow driveway if it is slippery enough.

Reading the comments, I’m coming up with all kinds of uses for this, except driving.
