For reasons totally unconnected with anything in the strip (which I don’t know about because I am ignoring it) I was thinking about feline deities. Terry Pratchett said that being a god was too much like work for a cat, but I have a tiny little collection of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune,
And it looks as though Paisley was right in her interpretation of the reversed card. Will this give That Guy Brad a chance? Only those outside the Grumbling Room will find out.
No, no Kit – you’re not getting out of this discussion that easily. This is a soap opera so you and Bandit have to talk for at least 4 days about how you’re turning your back on Angora.
Yeah, Kit, justify to yourself why you left Angora to the mercenary attentions of Brad the Cad.
Yum Yum is currently amusing herself by driving a squirrel she treed into a nervous breakdown. I expect her to come sauntering in shortly, demanding treats.
Usually the father is upset when the son turns their back on a serious profession to become a magician or dancer. Hilarious that Bandit is doing it backwards!
I suspect that Kit is continuing to feel inferior to Brad because he is looking at the wrong things. See this strip, https://www.gocomics.com/breaking-cat-news/2019/08/10
Well that comment was supposed to be a reply to Robin’s post about feline deities. Guess I hit the wrong box. I’m a little fuzzy-brained, sitting in the vet’s parking lot while Zeus gets a look-at by the V-E-T for an ear infection in a curbside appointment.
By the way, anyone thinking this soap opera is unlikely in its themes should look up “Dark Shadows”, a 60s soap opera with a vampire as one of its leading characters. It ran for YEARS. Georgia Dunn is a true, loving parodist of the genre.

The trouble with someone posting links to other days is that I always have to go look at it. Then of course I have no choice but to read ahead or back for several days before I remember that I am supposed to just look at one strip. It takes me so long to get through the comments on this comic. Oh well, what can you do?
A bit belated, I guess, but I’m actually pretty glad that this references the idea of falling out of love (or at least, Paisley did and this potentially follows after). A lot of people seem to believe that once you fall in love, you’re guaranteed to stay in it forever… but truthfully, reality doesn’t work that way. =(
