That is so unreal. The IRS would use imaginary numbers.

I went to a tax preparer once when I was a young minister. That was quite a challenge for the H&L Block worker, too, but we got it. After that, I did my own taxes without a problem. This years tax rules changed so that I could end up not paying any taxes, or, if I read the instructions wrong, $272. I’ll let the IRS tell me.

Taxes have become quite simple. Enter in the amount you made last year, then write a check for that amount, and send it in…

Before the Internet (BI) we’d pass around Xerox pages with jokes, cartoons, etc. In the ’90’s there was an IRS form that said “A. How much did you make?B. Turn it in.”

I did my own taxes, filed them, got my small refund and spent the refund. I don’t think the IRS knows what happened.

Pi says to the square root of negative one, “Get real!” The square root of negative one says, “Be rational!” to pi.

This site no longer loads if you run an ad blocker. It doesn’t ask you to turn the blocker off, it just won’t load. Thus ends a many years long tradition of me directing traffic here.

Hire a tax preparer, Pam. That’s what I do: No strain, no pain, and his fee is deductible. And he’ll speak for you at an audit.

Jeff MacNelly (1947-2000) drew a hilarious parody of a Form 1040 for the Chicago Tribune:

This tax shows hard currency taken to the limit. It’s quantized because it just keeps circulating.
