I have to agree, Joe’s art today is fantastic. Loving the noir feel with Tracy, and Honeymoon is delightful as always. Just as cute as they come. Honey, you go girl!

That middle panel looks exactly like Gould & co. would have inked it in the strip’s heyday, Gould loved to use that 1/2 shadow effect; Tarry, your wife does good work

Terrific Tracy in panel 2, I agree! But what are he and Honeymoon about? What’s the deal with keeping “it” secret, and why is it her classmates that Honeymoon mentions as not knowing of her Wrist Wizard? I await revelation….

Truly, these guys are defying the old truism that comic strips go downhill as they are passed from creators to creators. This is awesome.

Interesting that for 40 years the strip has stayed away from the whole Scifi/Moon era of “Dick Tracy” and now it’s back.Only Mike could pull this off without it feeling “campy” :)

I’d assumed the lights were car headlights and that they were in a car. Now I wonder if they’re stars and in the space coupe. Either way, wonderful artwork.

I love this comic,I wish they would have put the past 2 years in a book for christmas!

i’m on board with everyone else thinking that tracy and honeymoon are going to visit her other set of grandparents.. but it MIGHT NOT be on the moon… remember, diet said that the space coupe is still able to fly, so maybe as a christmas gift of sorts to his granddaughter, tracy contacted the moon governor to tell him of honey’s investigating the moon maid sightings and he is hoping that her other “pop pop” will verify for her that moon maid.. as far as they know.. is INDEED dead. i’m thinking that theyre gonna all meet up at diet smith’s for a reunion of sorts. and dont forget…. mike said thered be an “explosive christmas” so thats something ELSE to look forward to!

If this wasn’t Tracy, I would be deeply mistrustful of that 2nd panel. Now however. I wonder – what has he in store for his granddaughter? St’ Nickolaus? Moon Maid? I’m waiting impatiently!

Isn’t is nice not having to put up with constant complaining, gifs by the dozens, and wall-to-wall insults? Just askin’!

A test to me is if I was a kid reading this, would it have pulled me in. With strips like today’s I would say yes.

While I’m still not all that thrilled with the idea of bringing back the moon people, I can deffinately say that I do look forward to reading DT everyday, thx to the dedicated new team

I’ve been following Joe’s work since the early ’70s when he did a small-time comic book called E-Man for Charlton Comics. Bought the first issue off the racks and have followed his work ever since. Joe, you just keep getting better and better!

Yes, the attention to detail is wonderful. In addition to the hands, there’s them there eyes. What a spectacular strip this is once again. Thanks for the Moon Maid fix.

the see through look of her fingernails in the last panel are very nice flourishes.^^Not to put too fine a point on it, those aren’t her fingernails showing through her gloves in the last panel, it’s shading (just for the record)

People complain a lot about the coloring jobs, but today’s is well done. Give credit where it’s due.

If I had a loft, I’d want panel 2 in about 12′ × 12′ size on the back wall. Or MikeyJ’s.
