@LeviticusYesterday you said all of us fall at TJ’s feet to worship the “Jackal”. It is because those of us temper our suspension of disbelief by still believing that people that are good, would have a friend that has some good in them. Whether you like it or not, TJ is cast as one of the good guys. He is Brads friend, and despite all your vitriol, shows that he will do what he feels is right to defend the people he cares about. Those of us who haven’t given up hope in TJ, was paid off in this strip. Your definition of troll is a bit skewed. I moderate a board with over 100k members, and you’re actions fit the bill of one who is attempting to skirt around being one, but everyone else still sees it.

People like Ann don’t lie down and roll over without a fight. But I like TJ’s line of thinking. Sayoonara, Eiffel-san. Perhaps you can find another job in Japan…

Everybody sure likes revenge better than I do. I was still hoping this arc would bring out something good – in both AE and TJ. That would have been more interesting.

AE should just say, “I’m not going, TJ.”. They look at each other for the second frame – and the third frame. Then – time for a new arc. (AE and TJ to return later).

Great expression on Annie’s face in panel 3 as TJ shows her the door. Will she take the hint? That’s questionable. She still has some fight in her. And her obvious assets with which to work. Sexy Eiffel.

A more realistic closing panel would be what Rhett Butler said to Scarlett O’Hara – “Frankly, My Dear, I don’t give a damn.”

I hope this gets resolved soon. This is Luann’s comic not TJ’s after all. Or have a spin-off strip called Brad & friends.

This IS the resolution, where we see bloody vengeance taken by TJ the Mighty Avenger.

The ONLY customer I’d seen was the START of this ‘run’ - TJ was “working” him at the register (THINK he called him “Frank” ??) … isn’t it “odd” that a lowly order-taker KNOWS one customer’s name, but NEVER called any other customer, by THEIR names ?.And, for the record; TJ has NO living family. He was an orphan by age 15 or 16; Mother and Father died in a car wreck, leaving him a literal FORTUNE! (It’s believed he is worth in the MULTI-MILLIONS and lives off a LARGE trust-fund with a profolio of various Stocks and Bonds !).He’s said a number of times in the past, he doesn’t “need” to work, EVER !.I half expect to see where he is a PART – if not FULL – Owner of the Weenie-World chain !

Well said. I have harbored the same attitudes as you. I don;t like Ann, but I also don;t like TJ. He is great at getting people into problems, but runs when it comes time to get them out. End this theme, it got old on the first strip.

One thing I don’t understand is why people like Weasels and htduck, who obviously dislike this strip, keep reading it and making negative comments?

TJ never cheated anyone, he is a great salesman, and if the customers didn’t want to upgrade they could say NO.

It won’t happen that way… However if AE refuses to leave (she should refuse) – I think TJ will lose the staredown contest. Then AE breaks the ice with “I’m sorry.” Then TJ surprises us with “I’m sorry too.” They embrace. Then – to another arc…

One more possible scenario: TJ is holding the door open. AE says, “OK – My ride is here anyway.” TJ sees Dirk holding the car door open for AE. AE is smiling and TJ is not smiling…

I like how confused Ann looks in the last panel. She thought they were playing a totally different game. I envision her thought process going something like “Oh. I thought you were doing this to twist my arm into going to bed with you. You’re telling me you actually did it for some random demented revenge thing over some minor slight you’ve been nursing for months? That’s… oddly appealing to me actually. What’s your number again?” LOL I’m reminded of that great XKCD strip where the hat guy met the totally insane woman on the bus who took his hat. Some people are kind of made for each other, even if they don’t realize it!

TJ wants you to leave and NEVER return, Ann.

.., I like TJ, don’t get me wrong. But he’s a rogue and he’s consistently attracted to trouble like a moth to a flame. I have an easy time imagining that Brad is correct about him having a little bit of a love-hate relationship going on with Ann. :-)

Abusing TJ’s friends and lying to him (thus depriving him of credit due him for doubling sales) are not minor, random, or demented reasons for him wanting to burn Annie. And it doesn’t matter that he took his time—actually, we have no idea how long all this took, given the weird time warp of general Luannesville—and anyway, revenge is a dish best eaten cold, so some say. I think his motivation got better as time went on. At first it was to f with Annie for f’ing with Brad, but then the witch stole his credit and then it was personal. I wouldn’t want TJ after me! He’s showing that he’ll come after you and he’ll burn you. You’d never have known his game if he hadn’t let you in on it.

Ann is not that smart

He had to sum up her character and the storyline in one last Perry Mason moment. It would be insane to try to portray her as a repenting protagonist.
