I’m told Poles visiting America don’t understand why Polish-Americans are still dancing to music that passed out of fashion a century ago. (That would be about the time my Polish grandparents arrived here.)

I’m offended by the political content of this strip.The suggestion that the Democrats(donkeys) can only win elections by following the will of the electorate through the polls.While the Republicans(rats) lost by offending the polls.-——Yeah, it’s a stretch, but it makes as much sense as most political commentary.

Why in the world would you find that offensive? Attaturk was just a man. Not God or anything like that. Just a friggin’ man. To bad if the Turks found it offensive. People are way too sensitive these days.

What ever happened to “sticks and stones…”Vaudeville was the great uniter because they spread the laughs around. When you share laughing at each other, you learn to laugh at yourself.

Sticks and stones can break your bones, but words will never….oh, wait, words can hurt a lot….um, I think I prefer the sticks and stones, actually.-Frankly, everything about this strip and all the comments are offensive, including mine! And I sorta’ like it that way. LOL everybody, even when you’re mad!

I’m not touching any of today’s comments with a six foot pole. My friend Stanislaus, who IS a six foot Pole, also won’t touch them!

I think Stephan’s comic puns are really funny and gives me laughs every day.

Polka music is mainly czech and german stuff (bavarian october fest, you get it?). has really nothing in common with polish… ow, boy… this strip has got boring long time ago…

Right now I’m enjoying my Polish breakfast of kielbasa and sauerkraut. Maybe some pierogi. I’m saving the pig knuckles for lunch.

There was a sort of pun at the end – “The Russians are coming…”And, I wonder why Mr. Pastis didn’t use Arabs or Muslims instead of Russians. Based on all evidence, they appear to qualify as E.O.R.‘s. I believe it has been called the Religion of Perpetual Outrage.Oh well. I suppose even an outrageous humorist such as Mr. Pastis has the right to value his own life and not offend the real Eyore’s….

My first week at a new job I silently dubbed one of the guys ‘Eyore’ and 6 months later he more than fits the nickname. Thanks to this I now have a picture of droopy ears to keep quiet about too.

There’s a Polish sausage restaurant chain in Baltimore named Polak Johnny’s. Mmmmmmm…Polish sausage….

When I was young (before political correctness) Polish jokes were in fashion, but before long they sorta switched to the dumb Swede flavor. Since I’m part Swede, that was memorable, though I wasn’t offended. I guess I just thought, “Yeah, that’s some other Swede” I suppose that people are selecting some other minority nowadays.

I had a job that took me to Poland back when it was still behind the Iron Curtain. Most of the people were very nice, and they told Russian jokes just like Americans told Polish jokes.

wow this seems accurate…go ahead Pastis, If i as a Christian can take being made fun of, then so can other things/people.

This is super-political. The message is that Democrats can only get a lead on Republicans by blowing the things Republicans say out of proportion and using other such ridiculous tactics to smear them.

People CHOOSE to get offended and in this day and age many people CHOOSE to get offended over virtually everything. There is no way possible that anyone can never offend someone. You either have to not care that you offend or stay in your house and not talk to anyone.

The best comic I have read in a while. Polka dancing still has a strong following and is great.

Blackhawk was (originally) Polish. Think about that, you Germans, Russians, and assorted rednecked ruffians….

I was hoping this would be one that would confuse Polish (the ethnicity) with polish (brightening silver or other metals), like I once did long ago at the county fair. I was riding the ferris wheel and looked down to one of the food vendors which sold Polish sausage. I honestly thought it said pah-lish instead of pole-ish. (Sausage that’s polished? Huh?)
