Just tell the salesclerk that your wife made you return them. That way you’re off the hook!

I haven’t returned anything in years, but last I recall you don’t actually have to provide a reason. If they have to put something on the paperwork, there is usually a simple “Not suitable” or similar option. All of which is to say, Quit overthinking it, Irving!

You don’t have to say they didn’t fit, just say you didn’t like the fit.

That reminds me of when I returned a bedspread. I explained there wasn’t anything wrong with it. The colors just didn’t fit with the rest of the room. I noticed that what the clerk wrote down was “Wrong size.”

Possibly that was the only way it could be accepted back!

I rarely ever have to return anything clothing-related. Why? Because I try them on in the store before I buy them to make sure they fit right and look good on me! To some people, that concept probably seems like rocket science but to me, it’s just good, old-fashioned common sense. A little time spent trying on something while you’re already there is nothing compared to the time, energy and money you’ll spend later if, when you get home, you find something doesn’t fit right and it has to be returned.

I like the idea lightenup suggested – donate to Goodwill (or here it would be the Salvation Army Thrift Store). I am sure Cathy could do that for a lot of the clothing she has that doesn’t fit her, or is the wrong style.

Hah! So much for Cathy’s lecture! How many times have we seen her begging her mother to return things for her? Or driving across town to a different store of the same name, to do a return, but did not want the store where she bought it to know?

I give up … thanks to all of you; my comments are disappearing into the black hole of GoComics or going where I didn’t post them. You have made my birthday so special. I’m so glad to be part of Cathy’s Corner group – love you all!

While I don’t enjoy returning items to stores, I don’t dislike it. Though, if these two Whack-a-Doodles had their way with me doing so … [smile]
