Peanuts fans, I need your opinion, please! Now, Shermy’s final appearance in the strip is recognized as having taken place on June 15th 1969, but I myself believe that he last appeared on November 9th 1975: http://www.gocomics.com/peanuts/1975/11/09 Go to the link and tell me: is that or isn’t it Shermy in the second panel of the strip? Thanks :)
Interesting that the dot for Shermy’s eye is missing here, but it shows in the Spanish language strip. Must have been an error when the strip was colorized. As for the little red-haired girl’s appearance in the television special, Schulz said that “a” red-haired girl appeared, and people could think it was her, but it wasn’t intended to be.

OldestandWisest, yes, Heather was on “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown” and “It’s Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown.” I believe she also made rather brief appearances on “A Charlie Brown Valentine,” “The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show” and “Snoopy, The Musical.”
Why does it say if you don’t complete it you’ll get a failing grade. Shouldn’t that be obvious. Kind of like saying, “If you don’t go to work, you’ll not only get fired but not paid as well.”

Think of this as an opportunity, Chuck.

How did Shermy see it? He seems to have no eyes.

You’re going to need all the luck you need, Charlie Brown.

This is a great opportunity to achieve great failure.

So he does know her name? I thought he didn’t and only admired her from a distance. As he never talked to her, someone must have told him her name.

You should be used to that feeling by now, Chuck.

Maybe Charlie Brown should bring her a peanut butter sandwich.

OK, not referring to her by name does seem rather silly since he just read it and recognized it on the sheet. . .

When you are that young….it’s all “impending doom” and not opportunity.

Anyone wishing Chuck luck, doesn’t know that this history has already been written, and Chuck is always doomed to fail.

Let’s just hope Charlie Brown doesn’t come down with a case of Cold Feet and have to stay home.

I don’t know how this turns-out, but in the real world it would almost surely turn-out well.
