Well, Toni might as well get an early start on it. Brad, now’s a good time to keep practicing your yes dears. She’ll want you to be an expert by the time she gets all prettied up in white for you.
My housemate leaves the door open. It not only wastes energy, but also makes my milk go bad. He doesn’t have that problem because he goes through a gallon in a few days, while it takes me 2 – 3 weeks.
She looks at him and what does she see…something that continually makes mistakes and needs lots of improvement…he looks at her and what does he see…beauty and something that needs his love and support…can the two match???…only the comic will tell……
I’ll bet that we find that Toni also has some ‘bad" habits like leaving the lights on, or turning on the hot water in the shower and leaving for several minutes, or buying clothes they can’t afford, or buying a chrome plated radiator cap for the car because it’s cute, or …..?
@ Michyle – I think you have it right, I’m a firm believer that one should live with there potential life long mate before they consider tying the knot.
She’s doing this at HIS parents’ abode?….What happens when her name is on the warranties?…And did she provide this service for that bastion of manners Dirk?
Wives and mothers are naturally like that…which is why most men shy away from proposing marriage. They don’t want to feel like living at home with their moms. However, if they actually grow up, behave like adult man as in using a cup to drink, napkin, and keep the ref closed, they would not get a nagging wife.
I know I am being a spoil sport, but that look on Toni’s face just seems like trouble is brewing. Is she going to get cold feet? Will there be a few bumps in the road to come??? I hope not, but things are going just too good.
The whole point of this week is that Toni starts to realize that she doesn’t actually know the “real” Brad at all. He’s just been an idealized figure in her mind, the guy who saved her from injury when she fell from the ladder and who was a comfort to her in the aftermath of the break-up with Dirk. Now that she sees him for the guy that he actually is, she starts to wonder just what she’s getting into. I suspect she will soon suggest they cool off their relationship and put the engagement on hold.
I’ll never understand why you’re so obsessed with Brad’s sex life. I get the feeling you are trying to get a rise out of people, the definition of trolling, or you’re getting a rise from Toni and want to see Greg draw her more provocatively, in which case I am certain that exists out in the world wide web. In any case it is a base topic not worthy of discussion in polite society.
A newly married couple always have a lot to learn about each other even if they have already co-habited. Each person must learn to accept, adjust, and most of all respect each other with love. It works.
So far behind….*Happy belated Thanksgiving, everyone! FYI- Monday is national “Take a Turkey Sandwich to Lunch” day.
*Happy Hanukkah to Bernice, her family & friends.*
Happy Black Friday to all the shoppers.*Happy Local Saturday to all the local businesses.*Happy Self-Recognition Day, Toni. Glad you caught it and will try to nip it in the nag.
Those who think all problems can be worked out by premarital cohabitation are wrong. Many MAY be worked out, but it is not the same thing. It is inherently without legal and/or spiritual commitment..If there were true commitment, ceremonies and scraps of paper would only be for social and/ or legal needs, but not needed other than that..Many marriages are ONLY with legal commitment and tend to fail as well..Even though Toni and Bran are only imaginary, if they were real, they would already be solid as a couple. They care and are committed to each other.
I expect to sometimes have the last bit to sometimes go bad, but it usually is not a problem…. IF he will just do as an adult should do. It’s bad enough that he leaves it open when getting cream for his coffee, but he will leave it long enough to refill his dog’s water container with filtered water (a slow process). I came in recently after he had been in here cooking, and my milk jug had “collapsed” from being re-chilled after warming. He knows better, thinks he’s gotten away with it, but has no idea that I can read these clues.
I’d venture a guess that they’ll “run a counter sweep left”, come Monday. Unless we get the ol’ Toilet seat up or down bit, or something else. – Maybe even a couple of days of B&T, and a couple of days of someone else….
Or have the wait staff, as part of the “blame game” in the event of pooting… – See today’s “Jump Start” where the new kid discusses his need for a “Question and Answer person” to take the heat off of him, even at school…
Sometimes those little gloves seem to come… “pre-punched” already, Lol!…. but I doubt at the fingers… – Wow! That technique would seem to save from having to wash and maintain separate bottles… good idea, even if it is just a cartoon, ha ha!…
If you notice the expression on Toni’s face in the last panel, she isn’t really trying to be a nag… she just realizes how she sounds, and combined with the “cute” expression on her face, she shows that she cares about how she treats Brad, and her aim is to be a good wife not “that kind” of wife… something that many who start out in prep for marriage sometimes go through…..
When i was with my ex wife i let her know that I am not house broken.. A divorce later. new wife.. i never learn.. Told present wife same thing.. We have been together now for almost 14 years and married 8. Still not house broken. LOL
I still do the typical things of using my sleeves, ect.
Good grief. At least Toni caught herself. There’s not one wife in 10 who ever notices that kind of thing in herself. Hold on tightly, Brad, and do not let go.
Hey, Brad, it could be worse. She could nag and look like my wife, not Toni. If she weren’t a cartoon character, I would lust after being nagged by Toni.l
The great truth of marriage is this:Getting to know your partner doesn’t happen in the courting stage. It doesn’t happen in the engagement stage. It’s a life long commitment. My grandparents, happily married for 50 years, say they learn things about eachother all the time. If they learn new things after 50 years of marriage, I think a pair of young adults can be forgiven for not being omniscient regarding eachother.

It’s working, Brad. Toni is being a responsible adult – she’s seeing some things about herself that a responsible adult needs to change.

So Toni is learning to be a responsible adult AND Brad is also learning to be a responsible adult. Different strokes for different folks.

If left unattended for very long we (guys) have a tendency to return to our natural state. As do most things. That’s why there are Mothers and Wives.
