What about Sprocket and Silver? Tracy and Dr. Mordred escaped from a car that was underwater. The Nitrite’s should be able to accomplish the same thing.

Honeymoon finally having a visit with her “aunt.” Glad to see this! Here’s hoping we see a lot more of these two together. Glad to finally see Mysta in the hands of a talented colorist, too!

It looks like Mysta has taken off her special gloves, interesting.

So, finally we get to the visit of Honeymoon and Mysta Chimera. Hopefully, we’ll resolve the fate of the Nitrates at some point, and I don’t doubt that soon we’ll be seeing the two from the theatre audience.

I see that Mysta has started wearing different clothes. She looks perfectly fine to me. The colouring of her “horns” looks good but I actually think that Honeymoons lips should be a slightly barker colour than her face in the close-up view.

Mysta returns! Trying out some new clothes, which look nice, and her apartment looks great, too. I knew she was supposed to meet with Honeymoon soon, but I didn’t realize it would be today. Cool!

You know—-it’s almost inevitable that someone who missed the the strip in the last few year is going to be confused about the Mysta situation and need an explanation for Mysta (original) and Mysta no. 2 one of these days. I like them both but feel that keeping Mysta 2 close to Junior and Sparkle might yet cause a problem in the marriage. Mysta 2 is so much like Mysta 1, that Junior might get a bit confused and his feelings for the memories of Mysta 1 might still cause jealousy from Sparkle.

Just remember, each story/art team uses story changes characters. Dick Lochner and team had Junior looking like a successful business man while acting as a police artist. and Bonnie Tracy as a young college student. Now Junior looks like the Gould version while Bonnie is just returned from the Indian Reservation working with the poor. It can get quite confusing when the creative team changes even when the new team is good. I have enjoyed Joe Staton’s work Since his days at Charlton Comics when we were a lot younger through his DC days and occassional free lance work.

ok ok I see what Team Tracy is doing here. They want us to ‘forget’ about Silver and his sister for just a bit. I sense a big twist coming in the near future. Honeymoon is just following her heart. She is a “Peacemaker.” (BTW I am not hating on the relationship between HMT and Mysta.) Team Tracy is wanting us to keep returning here every day and they want to show the loyalty of the fans by keeping the many different stories of DTs life alive. Sadly many good strips forget this and they progress with the stories. I am so glad that Team Tracy does not.

I have to admit, I was disappointed that the original Moon Maid was not brought back, but every time Mysta appears in the strip, it warms my heart. She has grown on me, and continues to do so. I LOVE the fact that Honeymoon considers her “family”. I think it would have been cool for Diet to have turned a retired Space Coupe into Mysta’s new Apartment.

If that means the current Team Tracy plans to stick around for awhile, I’m all for it!

I don’t care what happened to that woman beater (jerk) Silver, but, I’d love to see Sprocket survive and become a reg, she’s so kookie with that 60s Beatnik thing going! Of course, the fact that she was trying to drown her Bro might keep her out of sight, for awhile.

Hey, are they just gonna leave Silver and Sprocket at the bottom of the lake? We need closure!

And Mysta returns on the first day of Spring! Not a huge Mysta fan (I born during Moon Maid’s heyday so don’t yell too much) but it is nice to see a return.

There are enough dangling storylines to keep us in action for months if not years already. I (like seanyj and some others) would be more comfortable with some closure on some story arcs or characters rather than a universe ever expanding in all directions. It is nice to see Honeymoon and Mysta Chimera, and to see that they are getting along well, but what about Silver and Sprocket?And I think Mikeyj and morrow may be right about Sprocket having potential as an enduring character; she is certainly memorable. But, then, so was Hot Rize….

Mysta and Honeymoon are two of my favorite characters, so this is a great way to usher in spring. Again, the attention to detail is eye-catching. The high ceilings and furnishings of Aunt Mysta’s digs gives us a strong sense of place, while Honeymoon’s scrapbook keeps the depth of Tracyville front and center. I suspect that we will not be allowed to see the wonder car hauled out of the lake. If there are any survivors I will be surprised. We are invited to use our imagination as to the demise of the three occupants, as Team Tracy is not allowed the same liberties enjoyed by Gould. Look to see them no more.

Ah, Spring. Birds chirping, bees buzzing, and young DT fans turning their thoughts to Mysta. I love this time of year. Even though I’m not as young as I used to be, I grew up seeing Moon Maid all the time. So this is great. Now all we need is a Pequod77 poem.

odd tho how tracy and sam at the lake/pond where the nitrates took a deep dive were shown at NIGHT but Franken-Mindy’s apartment is during the DAYIME yet with no mention or comment of “the following day” or something like “while on the other side of town”

i guess tracy and sam pulled an all nighter! and it seems that diet smith’s rendition of king lear is an “All Night Long Production” as well

I was going to say it, but tsull2121 sort of beat me to it..Forget about Honeymoon and Mysta – it’s Sparkle and Mysta together that should get everybody’s attention..I agree with Dennis Sisneros, though I am more deeply disappointed in the creative team’s decision to make a “new” Moon Maid out of former petty criminal Mindy (Glenna Ermine). The storyline suggested by don bearden, above, would have been far more fitting had the real Moon Maid been allowed to return from the dead, as it were..Though, those wedding pics of Junior and Mysta, along with the Honeymoon baby pics are priceless..We see Junior and Sparkle’s wedding pics whenever tsull2121 posts; I find it oddly appropriate to see pictures from Junior’s previous marriage..tsull2121 may have coined the term, “Sweatbox Ending,” but I take full responsibility for the name, “Franken-Mindy” – though I was feeling quite a bit more disappointed at that time than I am now.

I suppose it a bit hypocritical of me at this point to say, I do not find it credible that infusing Mindy with Mysta’s DNA, along with brainwashing and memory implants, the current explanation behind Mysta version 2.0..Among other things, identical DNA and identical life experiences do not make identical people. Just ask any set of identical twins..And I will agree with tsull2121 in not trusting Honeymoon around Mysta because she is still at least part Mindy in disguise!.Perhaps this is a storyline Mike and Joe may explore later – bits and pieces of Mindy bubbling up through the Mysta façade. Who knows? Maybe Tarry Plaguer?.What makes me an hypocrite, I suppose, is that while I do not accept the premise that Mindy has – or can – fully become Mysta Tracy, on the other hand, I was more than willing to accept a Moon Maid in the first place – and would have more than willingly accepted a Mysta who had somehow survived the car blast..Well, that’s all the news that isn’t…

Now I remember what I wanted to say: Flashback to Christmas 2012, when Honeymoon said, “I know my mother is alive – and I’ll prove it!”.I wonder – even hope – that Mike and Joe will return to those fateful words. Who knows but maybe Franken-Mindy may be the person to help Honeymoon make her dream come true!

So, is this just another interlude, or is the Nitrate story over?

help me out a little here… as far as sweatbox goes… was it ever explained exactly WHY he killed little kids and stashed them in the Baux Family Crypt?

Noticing Sparkle’s baby bump and Chet Gould’s art work and Honeymoon’s acceptance of Mista I would venture to say this next story is all about family. Nitrate and Sprocket. Another day perhaps.

I suppose things might be different in Tracyville but in my neck of the woods it takes a lot of dinero to pay for everyday necessities such as utility bills, phone bills, cable bills, maintenance bills, grocery bills, etc. If FMM is getting a totally free ride then she’s being done a serious disservice. Nothing is free in life! LOL!!!

Returning to yesterday, so once again the “good” guys arttitude is to heck with the bad guys, let ‘em die. Diet letting Sail and Ghote die in outer space, Dick trying to remove any urgency to save the Nitrates by saying they have 0% chance when he knows darn well that tricked out car could have plenty of oxygen to keep them going for awhile. And sorry, that ending was just TOO bizarre to be believable for me…..KILL yourself so you don’t……..get HIT again? And now it looks like another fake Moon Maid story after already spending a lifetime on her just a short while ago…….oh, well, Abner K’s adventure rocked anyways.

Life’s too short to be a sourpuss, guys. :)As for me, I’m very glad to see Honeymoon meeting with Mysta. Takes me back to the good old days of Junior’s original family, and yes, I know Junior’s now with Sparkle and that’s fine.Today’s strip also convinces me again that Mike Curtis didn’t create/recreate this unusual character only to bury her again. I’m thinking more and more that Mysta’s genetic transformation will continue, and she’ll end up becoming a virtual double of the original MM. And all I can say about that thought is MAKE IT SO!! I hope I’m right. The original Moon Maid was one of Gould’s most wonderful and beloved creations, and even though Mysta isn’t the original, seeing her with Honeymoon after we thought the Moon days were gone forever is extremely exciting.Not trying to tweak the non-moon fans out there, just expressing my joy that a long-suppressed period of the strip is finally being recognized. The Mysta mystery made me happy to be a Dick Tracy fan again, and it’s gratifying to know it wasn’t just a one-shot story.The renaissance of this amazing strip continues.
