So, whoâs minding the store?! ;)
JayBluE almost 11 years ago
Looks like the kids had already had acontingency plan in place⊠in case of an emergency like this! â Good thing, too.. Everyone was in the mood for âDuck, Duck Gooseâ, today- and that was never Luannâs strengthâŠ. And Tiffany needs more time to raid the after-school snack pantryâŠ.

At least one child knows how to deal with a scary situationâŠand You Two, get your minds off the prom and onto your little charges!!! ;)

Oh, okay I have to put everyone around me at this time on hold while I talk to whomever on my cell phone⊠Really, itâs important⊠Oh yeah, and youâre not.

Oh, the joys of planning the perfect prom. So sad I didnât even go to mine (I graduated from high school eleven years ago).

The kids are showing initiative; which girl will take credit for teaching them that?

I thought dinner is usually served at prom. Guess itâs in the gym.

@IamJayBlue: Yes, I guess every prom is different. :) Out here in Los Angeles we have champagne parties. Kind of like a send off for the prom-goers. Usually, hors dâoeuvres are served with champagne for the adults and mock champagne for the kids. Iâve been to quite a few. Itâs pretty fun. Then of course, there is the after promâŠ

âHopefully, you donât mean the hotelâŠâ^Yeah, good catch! I really meant a gang of folk going to âBurger Lordâ or to âthe Greasy Spoon Dinerâ⊠or to the "Chez-Ved PittsââŠ. or the âLe Sacre BleuââŠ

Iâm always reminded of the cracks that Russell would lob at Rudy on âFat Albertâ: âYouâre like a day of school in a blizzard!ââYeah? How come?ââNo class!â
dadoctah almost 11 years ago
I had to Google. âGail the Snailâ sounded too much like an actual childrenâs book to be something random made up for this strip. Turns out itâs actually a character played by Mary Lynn Rajskub when she guest-starred on âItâs Always Sunny In Philadelphiaâ.

Good thing kids are inventive.

The kid with the glasses thinks that disco, concert smoke, lasers and confetti are unsafe. Disco?âŠ. Lasers?âŠ.

Somebody please remind me what the purpose of this Prom is? Grad is fast approaching,in June, shouldnât they be more concerned about that?

You know, legally, they have to have REAL adult supervision, not just a couple of high school kids.

Little Bossy Blondie is a real take-charge gunnery sergeant-type! Sheâll keep those weak-hearted babies in line while the two teen princesses play out their own fantasies when theyâre supposed to be on-the-clock for Kidz 1st. Will they be fired or otherwise disciplined? DoubtfulâŠ.

Luann got fired from the library some time ago. This is an elementary school program she and Tiffany work at.

This shows ONE way to teach children self-reliance â just ignore them.
Contessa Carrington almost 11 years ago
Girls do you jobs and the prom will take care of itself. There is a time and place for everything and now is not it.
Sportymonk almost 11 years ago
Anybody notice that Luann is the pone more absorbed in herself and Tiff is the one more concerned about how the prom gores for others? Quite a switch!!

Just wanted to offer kudos for the very sneaky Always Sunny reference. Made me just about spit my coffee all over the place!

Interesting how the little kids appearance resembles the main characters in this comic.

Yâknow, youâre right- there does seem to be a little bit of Hillary Forth, there!âŠ

Tiffany, if all the girls get prom gowns like the two girls in our neighborhood did, you wonât need a disco ball. The shimmering in the sunlight did more than any disco ball would do, sunlight or not. Gosh, those gowns were beautiful, and the shimmering was amazing. Iâve never seen material like that before.

âI believe Greg is simply making a point about self-absorbed teenagersâŠâ^I ran across a kidsâ TV show the other day, that had two kids who were liking each other, but one was getting ready to return to their out of state home, and when the idea for continuing by video chat came up, they didnât even wait until they were out of each othersâ presenceâŠ. _all of a sudden, they started chatting by video right there , while they were still with each other. Done for comedic effect, but depicted for just the same pointâŠ
JayBluE almost 11 years ago
Not only is it probably for a reference (âŠAlways SunnyâŠ), but probably also showing that when no one is âsupervisingâ, kids could âtheoreticallyâ be prone to gravitating towards things that could be âa bit out of their rangeâ (one example being shows that could be for "parental guidance strongly suggestedâ), according to some parentsâŠ.

CROSS-STRIP ALERT: Thereâs a jungle wedding going on this week in Judge Parker, between a CIA spy (her father is an armsâ dealer) and Judge Parker Jr. If youâve got a wedding jones going, they have new-age vows, small ceremony, and one of them will probably get shot.

-It must be wonderful to be so knowledgable as you are. When youâre done with explaining how the viewpoint character of this comic is a terrible person and everyone should instead be cheering for someone who tried to send pics of her nude to others, maybe you can send Secretary of State Kerry a message on how to figure out all the problems in the Middle East.

They need a change of logo for their shirts.
TORAD_07 almost 11 years ago
Says âKidz 1stâ on the shirts, which leads me to ask, Which kids first?
Yeah, I hope this isnât going to where âBig Chinâ has to intervene in the class and then fire 1 or both of them. But then again, that might lead to the last big âfireworksâ display between them! :-) :-)

âWondering if you caught the reference about the ârhymeâ line ?? "^Itâs been mentioned all day, practically.. -If I rhyme it, though, my goal will be to make sure there are at least more than three letters⊠â Or I may even be slick and go with âpassedâ, âcastâ, or something like that, Lol!
JayBluE almost 11 years ago
I seem to recall in some of the tribute strips and âcommemorationâ strips for other characters Greg has done, they have had a bit of poking fun at some characters. I believe one was the âHabitat For Humanityâ one, and another the âBlondie and Dagwoodâ special⊠and among them some of the kid charactersâŠ
JayBluE almost 11 years ago
âJust in caseâŠ.â^You just couldnât wait âtill summer for that, huh?.. Lol!!

It is not the library it is the school Luan & Tiff took assistant positions at.

Yesterday they said, âFour days until promâ. My guess is that means next week, or the week after, our time. As I see it, the big prom issues will be:*1) who is Tiffâs date?2) will Rosa tell Gunther her Plan C?3) what will go wrong between Lu and Qu?4) will Ox need to keep out the Hells Angels?5) will Crystal wear a goth gown or a pantsuit?6) others?

-And I donât (still) get why you read a comic when the main character is so distasteful to you. You see a world where someone is either perfect or a villain, so why not just find a comic that fits that world and is more to your liking? Teens tend to be self-centered. Would you be hating as much on Jeremy Duncan in the âZitsâ comic? I think I know the answer to that. -Your philosophy is close to that of the Taliban. Thereâs only one way for a female to be and if she isnât that way, sheâs âReallyBadâ. So go read about guys instead. Youâll be happier and you wonât be hectoring those who enjoy (and understand) that female teens can be complex critters, rather than perfect angels all the time. Just like guysâŠ
JayBluE almost 11 years ago
I respectfully disagree. And the reason that I donât disagree is not because I am trying to say so. Itâs not my sentiment that it is equal to being fired, but it is a sign of the times, and it is what it is becoming referred to, in some places, these daysâŠ.

Teenagers, can you hear me? Teenagers, do not imbibe alcohol on an empty stomach. Eat food on Prom Night!
melmarsh9v almost 11 years ago
Will there be any conversation between Frank & Nancy after Luann gets into the limousine with Quill? Exactly how much discussion has there ever been in the DeGroot household concerning the issue of teenage birth control?

Disagreement even insults arenât hatred.Insulting people is not Taliban behaviorKilling people is Taliban behavior..As to why he might insult people with whom he disagrees, I assume bad parenting. Still not Taliiban.. As to why he responds at all to those with whom he disagrees, I assume the idea is to correct a misstatement.
