Fox doesn’t even let you decide. They tell you that if you’re excited about the World Cup, you’re being played by Obama:-http://m.comedycentral.com/videos/video.rbml?id=suqg0f&cid=sresult
I once explained I was trying to spread a rumor regarding assignment of new office space. I explained I was making it up from whole cloth but was hoping it would reach the right ears and become true.it did and it was.And we all lived happily ever after.
Liberals will never grasp that a Fox affiliate, WPXT, did the legwork and broke the Bush DUI story which resulted in the Florida recount a week later. Who’s conspiratorial again?http://ajrarchive.org/article.asp?id=218
One of the sad things about their practices is, that many of their viewers think everything Fox says MUST be true, or they wouldn’t be allowed to say it. Also, they tend to love any lie that fits their prejudices.
@moedredWPXT was affiliated with the Fox Broadcast Network from 1986 to 2001 but it was not owned by the News Corporation, nor was it local news broadcast supervised by either the Fox Broadcast Network or the Fox News Channel. It is now affiliated with CW.
Read the article, FNC in New York confirmed the story and reported it first. Yet the Michael Moore chronology of history is still gospel in many uninformed circles.
so, if there is a rumor that alien fish from the moon are living among us who have an agenda to make 1 world government because the mongers heard on a call of duty message board, then it must be true?
Michael Moore doesn’t speak for us. At best he was cheap therapy during the 2004 election.Trudeau is at least fair and balanced depicting the Huffington Post as search engine optimized clickbait paying sub-Walmart wages.
Conservatives believe Fox and the WSJ report the truth, and MSNBC and the NYT lie..Liberals believe MSNBC and the NYT tell the truth, and Fox and the WSJ lie..Anyone got a mirror? .Realists believe Fox, MSNBC, NYT and WSJ lie. Some because it makes them happy*, some to make a buck, and some for both reasons..
Science shows it activates the brain’s pleasure center to listen to “news” that agrees with your preconceived ideas.
Personally what irks me the most is the fact that they can use the term “news” when many of the people employed are not journalist. I’m not talking just Fox News. Whatever MSNBC is now is just as guilty. They have Elisabeth Hasselbeck over on Fox now. I actually liked her on “The View”. I rarely agreed with her, but she seemed like a good mother. Her degree is in fashion design! She is actually quite talented but she is not a “news” anything. These networks call their people “commentators”, and the less intelligent masses thinks that must mean they are telling them the news. No, they are talking about whatever they feel like. I am so ashamed of Wolf Blitzer. He used to be a journalist. Now he’s a “reality show host” with what he calls “news”.
@moedred So what you’re saying is that because Faux confirmed one story showing W in a bad light years ago it somehow makes it OK to repeatedly manufacture false scandals about President Obama ranging from “death panels” to being a “Kenyan born Muslim” and deliberately making up false scares like the “War on Christmas”.
@felinefan55 Have any proof of MSNBC making up stories the way Faux does?
All media is biased…ALL MEDIA! The ideal reporter would provide ALL facts regardless of positive or negative affects to the story. In every instance, there are two perspectives or sides. One should strive for neither but report all valid, confirmed and verified proofs. But this is not what the public wants… they want validation for their biased petty opinions and views. That is why they ridicule one report that doesn’t vilify a certain politician and repeat the comments of a talk show that callously mocks the same individual.
My objection to Fox (& Limbaugh) has nothing to do with them “being mean to liberals”. It doesn’t seem to have done the ‘liberals’ that much harm anyway. My objection to Fox Limbaugh is what they have done to the Republican party.I think back to the 80s early 90s . . . when experienced and pragmatic Republicans like James Baker, George Schultz, HW Bush and Brent Scowcroft, stood face-to-face with the Soviet Union – after 40 years of Cold War – and got them to back down. With the horror of nuclear annihilation hovering in the air, these men carefully and peacefully de-escalated the infrastructure of Cold War, reintegrated Eastern Europe and Germany, and redirected the money and human resources into private sector, fueling the economic boom of the 90s. I didn’t always agree with their political and economic opinions, but there was no doubt about their intelligence and capability. And then I look at what the Republican party has become today. And it’s a pathetic joke.
Interesting comments today. Yes, the GOP today is a joke. They are a long way from the common sense of Ike and Lincoln would puke. Too bad for the GOP. Here in Kansas, in the governor’s race, Brownback is in a tight race. A Democrat has a chance at victory in Kansas. That is a pretty tough lift, but sometimes it is doable.
Presently the Republican party is a fiasco in chaos, and it’s this fiasco that enabled the Tea Party to form and become what it is. The Republicans are used to being in control and having their own way. The Democrats are doing everything the Republicans have done, but to their advantage against the Republicans and whining back “Well, it seemed to be OK when YOU were doing it”. Yeah, but that doesn’t make it right either. Both parties are a pathetic embarrassment.
Death panels? So when a Rationing Panel decides that a 44 year old woman in Oregon or Washington needs a specific drug to survive that costs $4,800 a shot and they decide not to cover it but will pay for her to kill herself, that isn’t a death panel how??
And MSNBC is the worst “news” network going. Even guests they have, left wingers, mock their ineptness.
Al S. said,But did Ailes actually say it?Was that the entire quote or possibly one taken out of context? How do we know?.I assume it IS true, but there are so many quotes I come across which the one quoted is misquoted, that my trusting nature is sometimes hardpressed to remain naive.(so far, so good, but it is definitely hard sometimes)
