Tiffany looks like she is peeved over the fact that none of Dez’s friends showed up. However, everyone else seems to be enjoying themselves.

“…word probably got around about how Bernice treated Piro after the last party”. ^Would seem it was due to happen!– But, then again, they probably also realized that she did “have a spine” after all, after that, and when you finally say no, even the softest “no” will be as hurtful to a “non-friend” as the loudest one…

Funny, though… I don’t see Gunther or Delta anywhere…

But they’re both out of the country, I think, right?

Not only did none of the Moony students show up, none of the Moony cast members did, either (except for Quill). This 4-day wonder of a play was put together so rapidly that no one else had time to learn their parts. I assume Quill had to put on a one-man show. since most of the Pitt crowd probably have no interested in a Moony U. dramatic production, they must have turned out for Tiffany’s “HHH”. Say what you will about Tiffany (and God knows, you all do, constantly), you have to admit that she really does put on a good party. But is TJ admiring himself in a mirror, or what?

Yes, we’re actually doing pretty well, thank you! 8^)) – The appointment shouldn’t take too long, and no procedures or anything. And no major illness, thankfully!

Not to mention the one-man audience!

Uhhh, I know this was tongue-in-cheek, but Greg would never let that happen to his characters… ;)

What did Bernice do to Piro that was so bad? He fell asleep in her room, she went to stay at Tiffany’s, and in the morning she sent him out of the room. It’s not like she had an obligation to let him stay there any longer, or even to have let him sleep there in the first place. Besides, we know that Piro previously imposed on Bernice by having her store things for him.

None of Dez’s friends showed, no free booze. Being a school sponsored event liquor was probably not allowed, and there was most likely a fee to get into the show and party.

One Halloween I sprayed my beard with deodorant and went as an armpit. Another I wore roller skates and tied a rope around my waist and went as a pull toy. That was a mistake after a few beers…

Theory: Delta and Dez are the same person. Delta lied about getting into Howard U. and had to attend MU found out Bernice was her roommate and created the ID of Dez to keep from revealing the truth, and is selling drugs to pay for the whole thing.

It is raining (!) and dark outside…IS Katie refused to go out in the back, so I had to leash her and went out with her in the front (we have plenty of bushes for her to hide behind). Anyway, it is getting close to the Witching Hour…for those who celebrate Halloween, Happy Halloween! Whatever happened to the witch outfit that Gunther made for Luann? In fact, whatever happened to the ‘new’, ‘college girl’ Luann in her neat miniskirt and tight top? She’s dressing as sloppily and carelessly as ever. Also does Bernice’s new image extend only as far as her hairdo? Take a lesson from Toni, girls. Your clothes can be pretty and sexy without being the slightest bit sleazy.

Yeah, it’s a good thing I’m usually up this early… we’re both usually up before the crack of dawn.. guess I’m so “stoked” about our vacation day, that I’m going to miss it if I don’t tire myself out… maybe I’d better see if there’s a “Perry Coma infomercial” on, Lol!

Why isn’t Crystal an Angel. The Opposite of her personality?

Interesting to tick off the pairings: Tiffany plus Oxford; Luann and Quill; Crystal and (ugh!) Knute; Nancy and Frank; Toni with Brad. That leaves Melodee Manezon (who needs no one and no one needs); and Bernice and TJ…. Hmmm.

I hope there will be some story lines about Knute and Crystal. I miss them!

Looks like nobody else showed up other than the ‘cast of regulars’.

I thought one of the big reasons for sending Luann to junior college, instead of keeping the strip in high school forever, was for a new set of supporting-cast characters to phase in and the old ones to phase out. Instead, we have met exactly no one at Pitt CC (other than one glimpse at an instructor), and here we are at a Moony U. function, and it’s the same old crew of Luann friends. Unless things change soon and in a big way, then they whole purpose of the “get older and graduate” initiative in this strip will have been abandoned.

Pretty anti-climactic, and if you ask me, lazy of Evans to make it into just another group portrait of his characters, albeit with cameos by three who have been missing from regular use for some time now.

Interesting that Crystal and Knute are still around. I wasn’t sure what happened with them…. and was presuming that Crystal had gone to school somewhere and potentially Knute did too (now, do not get in an uproar… Knute may not have been high wattage in high school, but that never stopped a bunch of people from trying out college for at least a semester). But, apparently, neither of them has gone to college or community college, and they must just be hanging out, potentially working or looking for jobs. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I am glad Mr. & Mrs. Degroot came to the party. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++NOTE FOR THE SHERIFF: Thank you for your explanation about TJ’s hair color yesterday…. it made a lot of sense. I notice in today’s comic, the colorist filled in the “holes” with fleshtone…. which when possible…. seems to make a lot more sense than what I was suggesting. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Anyone notice how the woman who is in charge of the play always seems to be drawn from that angled, sidways perspective? It is interesting, and I wonder why?

Oh, also… in regards to the college friends (of Dez)…. I think they are of course being portrayed as “fair-weather-friends,” but… with the short notice… it could logically also be deduced that many of them had other set plans.

-Who needs interesting new characters-If by ‘interesting new characters’ you mean people who take advantage of the roommate of their invisible friend by expecting her to take care of their (illegal) pet, hold onto (questionable) bags and relay messages about how much the invisible friend owes, or babysit luggage, Bernice is right. She, and we, don’t need this type of ‘interesting new character’.-I hope we get to meet some truly interesting new characters at both Pitt Community College and Moony soon. And I’m not including ‘Dez’ in that hope….

Did I miss something? Is TJ out on bail?

Why does Greg draw Melodee’s face as if it went through a pasta roller?! Don’t know about the rest of you, but I find it somewhat disturbing….

Lu would need to go to Moony for that to happen, so maybe next year.

Half are “dressed” for an evening out, and half are in costume— so is Dad dressed as a lepruchan or for class? And WHERE is Shannon, and why isn’t she dressed like a gargoyle?

So these are the characters who will stay with the strip. If they aren’t pictured here, they won’t or will seldom appear. Maybe some of them will pop in at Christmas. I’m glad to see Ox and all the others.

The way Quill is dressed— was he the horrendous headless horseman? And where is the parson, and the fair maiden, and the horse’s head & tail?

“Greg has managed to get rid of the black girl and the hispanic girl”*AW, hopefully they’ll be back for the holidays. But how about a black “boy” and hispanic “boy” as well? (Since were infantalizing females)

Please do not purposely try to provoke issues. There are times where ethnicity need not be a focal point. I suggest today’s comic is one of those times.

Geez , I can’t imagine why an amateur play, and freshman party weren’t a larger draw.Even the other cast members split to a better scene.

That stinks.

There’s still time for Dez and friends to crash this party; ooohhh, with maybe a cat-fight between Crystal and Viper thrown in!

It’s nice to see some “ghosts” from the past. Happy Halloween everybody. No tricks. All treats.

If by giving notice, you mean that Mr. Evans is signaling that Bernice is finally coming to her senses and realizing she doesn’t have to babysit questionable material (bags that might be drugs) and illegal pets, then I hope he IS giving that signal. It’s past time for Bernice to recognize that getting along with a roommate doesn’t have to mean going along with actions that could get her thrown out of the dorm, or school.-But you probably mean that notice is being given that there will be no new characters. In that case, I hope you’re wrong. And I also think it won’t be possible to continue with the college theme and just hang onto the old cast of characters.

Of course none of Dez’s friends are there – they’re all at Dez’s big party back at Bernice’s dorm room. And of course, it will be up to Bernice to clean everything up. (To quote Marge Simpson, “I am NOT cleaning that up! Oh, who am I kidding?”)

On the other hand, Piro couldn’t remember who Tiffany was a minute after she told him. So, in his blitzed state, he probably wandered away to sleep on someone else’s floor, and has forgotten all about Bernice. (Since he admitted that he doesn’t even know Dez, but knows her through someone else, he may not be as ‘connected’ to Dez’s friends as that guy ‘Hair’ who called everyone for the party…)

AT least Tiffany ’s favorite finger foods were a hit, right?

This party could have been held last year, or the year before that. Even though Bernice and Luann are officially in college (or junior college), in reality they’re all still in high school. The whole purpose of changing the strip to allow the character to “age” has been basically for naught, so far.

Correction: Toni and Brad are June and Ward Cleaver.

Ms. Manezon is spilling to Luann ‘s parents how wonderful it’s been having her work so closely with Quill , and spending so many hours helping out at the Moony U. drama department (instead of her studies at Pitts Community College , where Nancy and Frank ’s checks go, if not their daughter.) Look for some fall-out from that in the coming day / week.

Oh, If I told you, I’d have to… – ….bore you to death… LOL (X^D) – No, but no adventure, today! Usually, when we travel, we come up with all sorts of anecdotes for ourselves, or to tell others.. or we do our “twisted tunes” (a T.T. is the equivalent of “Wierd Al” songs, that parody other songs or things or whatever). We didn’t come up with any, and we just stopped at WalMart, but just to look and see what they had that the one in our area didn’t (the office was way on the south side of the area). – Then we stopped at Domino’s (they hated that so many people placed orders today, and some of their people were running late, but they’re a nice bunch at this location), and we napped. I guess the nap part is the “best” part, since it’s something many of us miss, since we took it for granted growing up, LOL! But the fact that there was no “running around” and no “hectic pace” today, was the whole point of our day…..

“LOL, At least we got our picture taken…”^Ha ha ha ha!!!

Also sorry for your loss! I can relate with a family member, and also a best friend….

Really sorry for your loss, and also sorry that your kids suffered that loss.-I lost some family members to tobacco. They were WW II vets and were given cigs to take with them in case they ended up behind enemy lines. They were never able to give the ‘coffin nails’ up, despite being fairly strong guys.-I never saw them as loving tobacco more than anything or anybody else. I saw them as actually changed by the tobacco so they really felt like they couldn’t get through a day without it. My one uncle was on oxygen toward the end, and still smoked….
