So it was Blaze Rize! That wasn’t my first guess, but I don’t know her well enough. She doesn’t want to be “used” but who has a choice in such matter?

“Equipment”?! How has Blaze been supporting herself? As she hastily wraps on a shorty robe to be confronted by an almost-sneering B.B. Eyes, we could speculate she has some decidedly tacky and /or seedy source of income. This is a “family” strip, so I don’t want to be explicit, but some rather bizarre possibilities come to mind….

16 again? I’m happier now! Believe me Gweedo, I ain’t pretty, but I’m nowhere near looking like the guy in the cartoon!

And for those who are trying to tie a personal orientation to her, via the “equipment”, you don’t have enough info to make a judgement. She may have that apartment full of exercise equipment, of which, ain’t mine or BB Eyes’ cup of tea, either!

There’s a lot or possibilities for Blaze’s day job. It’s was established a long time ago that she and her sister were lesbians, and she doesn’t have the seductive look for a uh, lady of the afternoon.-—-We know B-B Eyes’ cup of tea includes murders, extortion, more murder, etc. so anything other than that isn’t his style.-—She could be anything from a computer hacker to a Mary Kay representative, and B-B Eyes would make the same comment.-—My guess is she works on-line. Working at home means it’s always casual Friday.

All those deadbolts, and she didn’t use the peephole in the door to see who it was before opening it?(I’d have all those locks, too, if I thought B-B Eyes was wandering by!)

How many locks does Blaze have on her door! I thought I had a lot!

Okay, so BB doesn’t know Davey’s involvement in all this. Good for Blaze, keeping it a secret. Blaze’s future involvement in the Blackhearts? First, clever of Team Tracy to keep her “day job” occluded so we’re left guessing. Second, it looks like Blaze is being blackmailed into joining, so who knows what side she’ll be on when this arc hits its boiling point.

All I really know is, I can’t wait to see how this pans out.

If i recall, Davey gave her half of the money (other half for his mother) when he died and told her to make a new life for herself….(BB got it partially wrong….Panda was the front guy….only Double-Up and Blaze knew Davey was the new Mr Crime…..)

Happy Birthday, VistaBill.Blaze thought she had a fresh start, a clean slate, as it were. Yet here is B-B Eyes pulling her back in to the muck. What a great week in Tracyville! Apollo returns from his European duties, and we’re introduced to another key player in the Blackhearts. It is a real treat to see Venus and her side-kick, Méliès. This fun is followed by the return of Rikki, awoken from her slumber, lifted out of her Dreamtime to answer her skull-tone phone. Kadaver’s mask is hanging out for us to contemplate. .So very much suggested and left to our imagination is a reminder of the complexity Team Tracy brings to the strip. Yesterday’s excellent depiction of B-B Eyes on the phone is followed-up, wherein we are reintroduced to the compelling Blaze Rize. I especially like the middle bottom panel. The close-up of Blaze, her arched eyebrow underscoring her resentment at B-B’s coercion, is brilliant. She looks so fine below, even as she bolts from a dying Davey: high heels and packing heat. Her return today is most welcome.

Hats off for another stellar Crimestoppers. The miners of Matewan and other communities learned first-hand of the brutal tactics of private enforcers. .Thanks to cpalmeresq, Gweedo, Night-Gaunt49, Morrow, Chris Sherlock and Ray Toler for the kind words. Much appreciated!

Does Blaze’s back side look odd to anybody in the panel where BB knocks at the door? If she is standing, her robe juts out from just below her shoulders, way too high to be her hips. Just wondering.

Glad Blaze Rize is back. She’s one of my favorites.Now my question is did she really shoot Flaky Biscuits?

I remember the DT cartoons from the sixties where FlatTop was paired with B.B. Eyes.

I have been following the new Dick Tracy adventures since the new team took over and reading the daily comments here. I think it’s time to join in with the fine people here and see if I can contribute some relevant comments.
