Caption: The party's search for a viable presidential candidate continues.
Man with hump back: We're looking for crazy, but controllable crazy...and with a nice smile...
Sign on wall reads: PSYCHIATRIC WARD
Sign on desk reads: ADMITTANCE
Still got Inhofe, but have to replace Coburn. But the list is just too long of who theyâve got already! Thatâs not âpoliticalâ at this point, merely diagnostics.DSM time.
Hiring another idiot that will do as they SAYâŠand not think about it until someone takes a shot at them..Its a wonder that Since Kennedy, no one rides in the open..
I do lean more towards the liberal side, but see that, uncomfortable as it may be, we do need this see-saw of power for balance..We need the Republicans to temper our sense of entitlement and foster accountability..We need the Democrats to foster our sense of compassion and equality for those less fortunate..
I love it when jobs are lost, its the Presidents fault..When jobs are created, âHey, letâs give more takes breaks to the rich.â.With the Reagan/GWB tax breaks for the top 2%, college tuition is so high that the grads are $10s of thousands in debt..So they canât buy the new cars, homes etc, thus slowing down the economy..In the 50s-mid 80âs it wasnât that expensive to go to college.Many could work summer jobs to earn enough for next years expense..Not any more..The one thing that has to go is the 15% tax rate for Capital Gains Tax or allowing Corps to âmove over seasâ to avoid taxes all together..Until this is fixed, the nation will never be totally back on its feet.
I think itâs stupid to argue about which political party the cartoon depicts when everyone agrees this country is in a real mess. Instead of all of this back and forth nonsense, jump into your local political arena and work to change things there. Tip OâNeill was right: âAll politics is localâ.
The job description for a politician does require some psychopathic tendenciesâŠand a nice smile shouldnât be too hard⊠psychopaths are frequently described as âcharmingâ⊠the difficulty comes in when you want someone predictable/controllable. They usually seem to manage, though.
I thought they were looking for âextrasâ to be the background for their candidateâs speeches and rallies. That is how they do it at first, anyway, isnât it? Hire them?
âBut, donât you know? NOTHING bad EVER happened before January 20, 2009. Somehow, if you listen to the righties, President Obama caused the war of 1812.â
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~As I understand, it he also caused World Wars II and III.
âYou are part of a losing ideology. You splutter and spout, but Americans TOTALLY rejected Obamaâs course and vision. You lobbies love numbers almost as much as free stuff, so Iâll give you something. Those who self identify as Republican make up only 30% of the electorate. So, Independents and some democrats supported the repudiation of things Obama. As to âold white guysâ, do you know Harry Reed and Joe Biden? How about âRICH old white womenâ, like Hillary and Pelosi.â~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I am an American. I did NOT reject Obama. Itâs not my fault that stupid, ignorant people .make up the majority.And speaking of rich, white people, itâs strange that you left out the Koch Brothers, who have enough money to buy the country â and did!
And here I thought I was just doing a silly cartoon about the notion that youâd have to be crazy to want to be president. I guess the diatribes going on here today pretty much proves the point.
Sarah Palin has her moments of clairvoyance. On the 2012 campaign trail when gas was $4.50 a gallon, she told people that if they voted for Romney/Ryan, gas would be under $3.00 within two years. My neighbors took her advice and voted for Romney/Ryan, and sure enough âŠ..I guess I need to remember to thank them.
Wiley: thus was actually the intent of my DSM commentary, but isnât the group of selectors oft just as crazy as the potential candidate? (all parties, and the basic qualification for office is narcissistic tendencies?)
Youâre welcome, but I didnât post it to raise any hopes. The Dâs and Râs really get mixed further down this detailed list.
http://media.cq.com/50Richest/
The amount of wealth doesnât concern me as much as how they obtained the wealth, where they stand on policies, what organizations theyâre in bed with (figuratively), and how well they do their bloody jobs. I certainly wouldnât mind them being taxed more since any one of them have more money than my entire community will ever see, and put that money towards something other than the banks and the military.
Iâve said it before â here and other places â there is only one real solution to all this â split the country in two, and see which approach to things does better. If we donât do that, the only other course of action will have to be civil war. I would prefer the less bloody, less violent way but âŠ
Youâd never make light of cancer patients; why pick on the mentally ill? Youâre perpetuating the stigmatization of mental illness, which is beneath you.
