Several of you will no doubt be very happy to see that Tracy is at the scene of the crime examining clues, and there are other police officers also present. Not only that, but an actual crime has been committed. That’s certainly an improvement in my book over some other recent stories.
There never was much doubt that Stiletta was behind this particular action, but I suppose we’ll know soon once the forensic work is done. I guess Blowtop is not in condition to provide testimony, not that he would want to under further threat of death by Stiletta.
One other point from yesterday…I don’t care if Pequod77 has an hour’s leeway, I know I couldn’t compose a poem within that timeframe! Get over it poeple & enjoy the effort!
They still haven’t said that Stiletta did it, only that Tracy has come to the same conclusion the readers have. We still don’t know that Stiletta actually did it.
Well it’s always good to view the ‘days offering’ through a ‘light hearted’ EYE . . .And a round of Applause seems merited here for Joe Staton…* for providing the ‘best looking’ (uniformed) Female Officer we’ve ever HAD in Dick Tracy !
Gould always seemed to have them looking like middle-aged, Matron types, and I can;t recall Fletcher or Locher adding anything of appealing significance to the curve in the female uniformed equation ?.
Who knows what or who - may have inspired Joe today? Perhaps,Officer Doherty a little tired of the matrons and Mugg’s face all day long ?
And Vista Bill might ‘perk up’ a bit too, she looks an awful lot like Rikki’, not right up there, with the flair *- but challenging !
I’d think she’s good enough to be ‘seen’ again, on occasion, and Mike might wish to take the time to give her a name ?
On the serious side, Mrs. F - has added to her résumé. with a deeper meaning to her Christian name !
As Neil Wick already mentioned, it is just great to have Tracy and Sam looking a crime scene over for clues, talking of dusting for prints, etc.!!When Tracy makes his comment about their prime suspect (without mentioning a name) in panel one, he is looking at the table, upon which we see an ash tray with cigar remnants and what looks like a sheet of paper with writing on it. Is any of that significant, I wonder, or just creative misdirection by Mike and Joe?
Good morning all. VB – better snuggle up with Rikki and toss another coffin on the fire this evening. Seems DC is finally going to get some snow tonight to go along with this extended cold streak.
Sam: “I think Blowtop was lucky his landlord found him before he bled to death.”People were speculating yesterday that Blowtop’s attacker couldn’t be Stiletta because she left him clinging to life. I have a few thoughts on that:1) Stiletta isn’t a professional criminal (see 4/25/13 strip).2) She’s only in America to exact her revenge on Tracy, then plans to return to Europe (4/25/13).3) She’s ruthless and has a nasty temper that causes her to fly into violent rages at the slightest provocation (4/20/13).4) Her (apparent) attack on Blowtop was unplanned.5) She’s sadistic and gets satisfaction from her enemies bleeding slowly to death (8/16/12).Stiletta’s apparent carelessness about finishing off Blowtop might be because it was a crime of passion (her first instinct may have been to run, especially if the attack was noisy), or because she’s not a professional (didn’t think to clean up the crime scene until later, when it was too late), or because she’s planning to flee to Europe very soon (is confident she won’t be caught in the meantime). Or it might because she wanted Blowtop to bleed out slowly. Or it may be that she has something of a death wish and simply doesn’t care if people know about her crimes, as long as she’s able to bring harm to Tracy and his family. Or it may be that she couldn’t bring herself to finish off one of her family members. Or it may be a combination of several of these factors. In any case, the fact that Blowtop survived the attack is IMO no real proof that Stiletta wasn’t the attacker.
See Morrow, this is what I just don’t get. You can post something very inappropriate with no fear of reprisal yet StillDaMan! is banished for over a year without ever getting an explanation. Go figure!
@Pequod77: four years! Wow! They have done and will continue to do an excellent job! Maybe you can write a special poem commemorating their success. Have a peaceful night my friend.

Stiletta is an in-law, so I can see Blowtop tossing her under the bus, especially she tried to murder him and failed.

Has anyone ever noticed that when Tracy is onto something his chin seems to get sharper? Look at panels 1 & 3 more closely …
