Has Tiffany never heard of a salamander or seen a picture of one? I find it hard to imagine anyone, no matter how clueless, looking at the dress on Tiff’s wall and thinking, “Yes, that’s a good outfit to wear if you are going out to catch salamanders.”

How she handles her makeover-by-Gunther will show her—and him—who she really is.

I love how everyone is interpreting Tiffany’s intentions the same way! Nothing subtle about today’s strip!

I think the outlook is that Gunther is going to be a pivotal character going forward from here. For instance, he’s the only one who is in any kind of love triangle – apart from our eponymous character, of course, and that long forgotten guy in Hawaii.

Tiffany thinks Gunther’s hot now. Sure, she’s shallow, but she’ll give his new more primal side a focus for awhile. Still, she’s just a side trip for him. Don’t know what, if anything, he’ll do for Tiff. I don’t see anything making her less shallow.

I will love to see how Greg carries this new plotline out (it could be one of his best yet!) I can’t help but think that while Gunther could bring Tiffany up from the pits of self-absorption, more likely it will be she that brings him down. Okay, Greg, I am seated, have my popcorn and soft drink at my side. Start the next reel! :)

So next week we’re going to laugh at how desperate Tiffany is! Let’s drag her through the literal mud! I mean, she has no friends, lives alone, is completely alone…but yeah, this is great!

Desperate, but not for boys or friends. Certainly not for Gunther in that context. I think she’s desperate to get through college with a decent transcript. So she will exploit him for his tutelage and nothing more. Still calling him “study buddy” I think isn’t screaming “romantic involvement” or even “friendship” to me. Now, perhaps, Gunther, given his own vulnerable state right now, will misinterpret something Tiff says/does as “interest,” but I am confident she will shut it (and him) down quickly.

Hey, these two might be good for each other. If it helps Tiff grow as a character, I’m all for it.

I remember once Rosa bought a new bikini just for Gunther and all he did was become more flustered. I don’t think Tiffany’s atomic dress (85% fallout) will do much better. Maybe if she realized where she was and did a comic “strip” we might get some action.

I guess you could call it Salamander hunting. Is that like submarine watching?

Ahhhh, those shallow airheads !! Ditzy, but fun and delightful. I’m thinking of two in particular: Tiff and Lila.

Oh, an outdoors Science Adventure! I love science adventures! One can learn so much!And the cute, short little yellow sundress should improve Gunther’s powers of observation, especially when you bend over to pick up a salamander! (Yes, I remember the mini-skirt era of the late 1960s….)

She’s pretty desperate for friends, and thinks impressing them is the way to get them.

She’s not that desperate. I don’t get that at all from the first strip with Piro. I think she was just trying to give Bernice some advice on how to have a better time at college. Tiff knows that all she has to do is call up the football jocks and she could have a rockin’ good time. After all, she got them to help her move into the dorm room…

Maybe she’s desperate to impress others, but not for real friends. Still, we’ll see what happens with Gunther.

Tiff has somehow confused salamanders with lounge lizards.

That actually can be quite a cute look, a pretty dress or romper paired with military style short boots or even hiking boots.

Gunther is a ‘follower’… by his own admission. Right now the only available person to follow is Tiffany. Hopefully this will change. he needs to follow someone who will teach him how to lead his own life.
