Yuhh, oh!… T+J+Q= Bad math… – Wonder if everybody’s got it mixed up- where Shannon’s really eating the art, and Brad and Toni are actually looking at the food?… Well, then again, I guess that wouldn’t make things any better…they’d probably still look and taste the same…

Notice that some of the ‘artworks’ are priced. This is the kind of thing that a community college/state school can do for its art students; allowing them the opportunity to show and sell art years before a private, for-profit gallery would be interested in them. Similarly, those of us who live near Seminole County’s Community College/State School benefit from low priced tickets to theatrical productions (most of decent, too), and concerts.

Now notice that the ‘work of art’ called vanity that looks like a plucked chicken with a comb stuck in it back has a ridiculous asking price. Shannon could have created better art…

Has a situation in h.s. art class (never took college art) where I sat on a project until the night before it was due. Tossed together something silly, gave it a great big and impressive explanation, and teacher loved it. “A” with the thing on display. Of course, this WAS h.s., and she may have really wanted to encourage ANYTHING creative in ANY kid. And creative WRITING I’ve alway been pretty good at. ;-):-P

“I have an idea of how to teach these artists a lesson!” says TJ. He enlists Brad in a scheme to barricade the door so people can neither enter nor leave the room. “Boy, we are so clever,” the boys smirk. Shannon asks, “What if I need to use the bathroom?” The SWAT team is called in.

7 is silly specially with name given, maybe should have been called “b-4 7” the comb one is not vanity is “BS strokes” nine is also stupid, and the brick one is simply lazy..the closest to actually being art and not give the vibe of something just thrown together is the unknown title face bust

The art seems real, at a student level, if not especially good. Shannon needs to get out to few more openings to get the idea of finger-foods. For that fraud Zébo’s pseudo-Parisian opening, I supposed escargot with melted garlic butter would be good. Maybe that’s what Shannon is about to try.

(Oh My Gaw, It’s that BRAT Shannon! Quick, Someone Raise the National Threat Level to ORANGE Whilst I Distract Her!)

(A-hem) Hey Shannon! Wanna Have Some FUN? Well Just Feel Free to Run Around SCREAMING at the Top Of Lungs and BREAK Any and ALL “Art” You Come in Contact With.

And When Professor Bozo walks up to You and Says: “Just WHAT Do You Think You’re Doing Child?!!?” You Give Him a One-Squint, Look Him Square in the Eyes and Say:“I’m Making ART! What the Heck do You THINK I’m Doing???”

Then You STOMP His Big Toe Real Real Hard, Seize His Hideous Ascot and Run Pell-Mell for the Door Thereby Spinning the Professor like that Spinning Top You DIDN’T Get for Christmas.

And DON’T Forget to YELL “Rat” as You Exit The Door.

Also, it’s funny that Brad or anyone else would expect these students to be making pretty, perfect sculptures in the first semester art course! But I’m really pleased Luann is studying art (future cartoonist?). Frank’s likely to be annoyed by that. He’d want something more conventional, but it’s Luann’s education and her choice, not his.

Both the blurring of perceptions and the looser funds are the benefits of the ample alcohol at these shows. But, being a diehard skin flint, I prefer the gentle distortion of perceptions route when I venture across campus to visit the shows at the Art Department.

Same people.Art show? Same people.-At least create the illusion that other people are there. Even silhouettes would make a big difference. … . . . . "-—————————-I agree. There have been times when he had actual background people – some were even interesting looking, funny. .Now, even the silhouettes seem scarce. .There seems an increasing fear of adding new characters. The driver in Peru was one recent one, but Mr. Gray seems only a face.

RB2… I think Zebo is a good, albeit very unconventional teacher. In regards to the “quality” of the art…. well, hell, it is a freshman introductory course at a community college… I would not anticipate freshman level art (at least for non-art majors) courses at any institution to have MOMA ready pieces at any institution…. even “Harvard”. So, for me, the art is similar in many ways to the finger paintings and clay sculptures my kids did in preschool…. just a bit more sophisticated. And, that is to be expected, IMO.

Art is something that is very subjective, EVEN MORE subjective than the opinions of readers of Luann in gocomics………….. what is good art? some would swear by the impressionist artists, others by modernism and others by abstract and others by realism, some appreciate paintings of the past even byzantine and Gothic that were without proper perspectives, while others only like surreal ones, others hate certain types…………….. the desire of “surreal art” was probably created thanks to the creation of photographs, which basically stopped the need of painters to depict historic events, I have nothing against a lot of the modern art, where one can actually see what the painter is trying to evoke, but a lot of the issue is that so much of the art seems to be someone getting 3 brushes with paint of different colors, than shaking the paint toward the canvas and than whatever gets in the canvas is called art

in the true sense of the word, an open mind is one who appreciates the beauty of different homes, and does not think of their house as the only beautiful home, and anyone different from that is an ugly home…………….. a Peruvian home is beautiful, so is a Japaneses one, and an Eskimo one, and one in the West Virginia country and one in downtown New York, they simply are different but not ugly, and there are houses that might even have nice furnitures and art, but yet, they are not homes
