Nobody scuttles Tracy?? What kind of talk is that??

They have really made a mockery out of this comic strip.

Gould has to be dying all over again.

I can’t fathom this plot. Logic has become subordinate to illogic.

I was hoping Tracy would be cornered by Johnny Nothing. With nowhere to flee, Tracy screams like a little girl. That way he would hit the high C’s in the U-boat.

I’m trying to think of a new title for this strip, but it has to be s “D” word ans an “T” word. Maybe somrthing like “Delirious Tremors” or “Dumb Twits”.

    Got any ideas???

This is not entertaining, nor is it suspenseful As a matter of fact I find it resentful It insults the fans with poor art and script All that it is, is a big load of …. TMS should be ashamed For printing something so lame And the story arcs over the last several years Have only succeeded in bringing us to tears How pathetic it has been allowed to become Reading it leaves you feeling quite numb How long can this monstrosity last It’s time of glory has long since past Pull the plug, draw the sheet over the face And put an end to this comic disgrace.

Panel 1: Notice how narrow the hatchway opening is. Now JN would need both hands to climb down that ladder. So his gun is either tucked into its holster or he’s clumsily climbing down with it in his hand. Either way, it won’t be easy for JN to shoot Tracy if Tracy COMES UP FROM BEHIND HIM!!

All Tracy has to do is run up from behind JN, grab his ankles and pull him down with a quick yank. Johnny would let go, his chin or face hitting each ladder rung on the way down. Then Tracy could stand over the dazed killer and say: “You’re rung out to dry, Johnny Nothing!”

Hey, let’s give credit where it’s due: Between June 13 and today, the submarine has maintained a consistent size and shape! It hasn’t morphed wildly from one model of sub to another, and even the numbering painted onto the hull has stayed consistent.

I didn’t think people depending on height could run in submarine’s. I watch JAG when it was on and they had to duck a lot.

It look like Tracy’s turning a corner. To my knowledge, most U-boats have very few corners to turn. Just one to the dining hall and another to the Olympic-sized pool. I wonder which it is….

This sub that Tracy is hiding in must be bigger than a Trident.

It’s supposed to be a WWII sub, so that’s true if you mean a pack of Trident chewing gum, although barely.

Even Tracy’s thick skull would be dented in a dozen places in no time if he tried to run in a sub like that.

Yes WW. You can give both accolades of an excellent natrue. I see now that you are equally deft with terms of, (shall we say) a non-favorable nature.

Well done, and I’m sure the majority agrees with your words.

Aunt Marg wins the prize! It was none other than Matthew P. Hansel, on another discussion board, responding to the very similar observations of the strip that we have here.

Uncle Ludwig, that sly old codger, has no desire to go to Naperland Amusement Park, and quietly sat this one out. BB was also witness. Of course, those were the days before he got gagged.

Congrats, Marg! Have fun at the DT theme park and don’t forget to avoid standing under the big Dick Tracy statue. Every hour on the hour it drenches those who stand under it with lemonade.

Shouldn’t Tracy just grab his legs as he comes down? It’s just as effective as kicking the gun. Guess Locher has either got him playing chicken….or he wants to drag the strip on until the end of the month. Probably the latter.

WW2 U-boats being what they were, wouldn’t running through the boat make you an excellent target? The hatches between compartments nearly line up, and all JN has to do is wait for DT to pass from one compartment to the next.

Next problem: The opposite of the one everybody’s mentioned about JN climbing down the ladder, only worse for DT: As our “fearless” detective climbs up to get out of the sub, he’s defenseless and a target you can’t miss. JN will hardly even have to aim at this sitting duck.

simple, the interior of the sub is consistent to its own dimension - sort of like the tardis, but instead of having the inside changing and being bigger on the inside, the sub interior is protected from the uncertainty waves that are always flooding the external environment

“Sub” is an excellent prefix in describing this strip. Subpar, subgenius, and subterranean. But not subliminal, substantial or subsistent. No subplot. Why subscribe?
