88 Keyes, Pruneface, Shaky, & Shoulders…No matter what this story is all about, I LOVE IT! I know that others will be appeased only if Flattop shows up, which I wouldn’t mind either (let’s face it, I waited for the return of Mr. Bribery for almost 50 years!) Joe & Mike have me hooked!
Can we start a petition to have ALL the daily strips in glorious b&w?! The 2 times the strip has recently been mistakenly printed sans color proves that they look much better for it. The inking is suberb!!
I know! It’s not an alternate universe or timeline – it’s the afterlife for dead Dick Tracy villains! (Condemned to see things from HIS point of view…)
The colour will probably be back later today. That’s what happened the last few times. Whoever’s doing it is behind on their work I suppose. I prefer the black and white for the daily strips, but I do like the colour, too.
I sure hope that the B&W is not just a fluke today. It has a great 30’s feel to it. If not, maybe Dick Tracy and gocomics could work a deal, run both B&W and color? Like what they do with Pibgorn. And yeah, I’m just a kid, only 55. I need to be kept up on the old time baddies guest stars also!
As much as I hate to say, and at the time appear to be channeling Otto’s #1 brother and mentor, but must say, “Z-z-z-z-z”….. The regular Tracyland is Twilight Zone by itself; but to stack up a Twilight Zone on top of the normal Twilight Zone is Bizzaro squared.

Ok. I am 80 yrs. old and have been a reader of Dick Tracy since the 1940’s. I think it is time for me to stop reading this strip. I know things change but this is ridiculous. Just saying.
Parallel universes and mirrored realities seem more in the province of science fiction than crime drama but we must remember that ever since the introduction of the 2-way wrist radio in 1946, the Dick Tracy strip has had a science-fiction bent. With our modern cell phones capable of real-time texts and videos we tend to forget how improbable Tracy’s wrist gadgets were when they first appeared. As time progressed, the wrist radio morphed into the wrist TV, the wrist computer, and eventually into today’s wrist geenie.
Equally as improbably at their appearance were the Voice-O-Graf, the battery-powered video camera, Diet’s secret to fusion power, magnetic propulsion, the Space Coupe, etc. Many of these science fiction devices have either come into being or are currently being developed (including Diet’s mind-reading devices).
In addition, Gould had Tracy setting foot on the moon before the actual Moon Landing occurred (albeit Moon aliens still fall in the sci-fi realm and are not likely to be proven true). Still, this outer space excursion gave the strip many unearthly characters and hybrids still prominent in the strip today.
I don’t see how anyone can deny the influence science fiction has had on the strip over the course of its run without denying the premises of the strip itself.
Prominent scientists in the real world now tell us that they have developed string theories of quantum mechanics that conclude the existence of various infinite parallel universes. Perhaps this particular story line, although obviously fiction, is more realistic than we imagine it to be.
Whatever this story turns out to be, Mike has fulfilled his mission as writer. He has created a mystery that has all of us guessing while keeping us entertained at the same time.I for one am having a ball with this tale.
A sunny day to all those who need it and a rainy day to those who need it.-——————-This is a great story. Very enjoyable.-——————-Be healthy, wealthy and wise everyone.

Wasn’t there a Sunday strip a few years back where Vitamin Flintheart came out and spoke of an unknown, upcoming tragedy for Dick? I can’t find the strip, however, I was wondering if this storyline had something to do with it.
