dad: to the fuse!
mom: to us! we did it!
dad: hon, thank you for supporting my crazy idea.
mom: hard to believe it's happened. sometimes i want to pinch myself.
dad: allow me...
mom: oooo
luann: ok, knute? let's go visit the art gallery
And with only $2M+ of magic money that came from nowhere, we put together a venue to host unseen shows with invisible collegiate casts, drawing a paying audience of literally dozens! Weâre gazillionaires now, baby!!!
Yes we did, but remember this is Luannverse. And I knew they would, but the book is not closed yet. Remember I think the prevailing view is that Brad and Toni will get married here on 9/11/16.
Hard to imagine any demand whatsoever for âThe Fuseâ; even the comic strip canât be bothered to show any patrons.
If this storyline ends with anything aside from the DeGroots filing bankruptcy for an absurdly stupid business decision or Mr. Gray successfully organizing a bust out, Iâll consider it the most fake part of Luannâs universe, narrowly ahead of (1) Toni having an interest in Brad and (2) the characters from Luannâs high school all hanging out through the year even though theyâve gone to different colleges.
Me think Luann as are most kids..no matter the age , are uncomfortable when ever parents seem to be getting seriously romantic and moving beyond the first base area in their interactions..Better to move on and thnk along the lines of âemacualate conception..â
You know, Frank does sort of look like Mr. C, getting all âfriskyâ, and what notâŠâ âPreviews And AttractionsââA Couple And A CupfulââHappy Days And NightsââL- O -V -Eâ (â«)âGimme Some Lovinâ " (â«)âAnd I Canât Help But Love You So" (âȘ)âThe Show Must Go OnââA Fresh Pair Of ParentsââLove Birds For All SeasonsââOne Iâm Sure They Wrote, For You And MeâŠâ (âȘ)âSignal Transmitted, Message Receivedâ (âȘ)âThe Show Before The ShowâorâŠâItâs How You Got Hereâ
Anybody want to take a stab which lovebirds weâll see at the gallery? Furthermore, âIf you donât eat yer meat, you canât have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you donât eat yer meat?!â
1) I miss Knuteâs thumb today.*2) I miss Momâs Maidenform woes. Same as I have when wearing a low-shouldered dress that requires either a strapless bra or safety pins to hold straps in un-designed positions. Accidents do happen, but are never portrayed elsewhere.
BuckarooDave3âŠ. your suggested plot twist (Guntherâs Mom and Mr. Gray in a âcompromisingâ position") would be extraordinarily interesting! But I doubt it would happenâŠ. I would even bet my favorite Peterson full-bent briar that it will not. (Important caveat: âCompromisingâ would have to involve more than just kissing for me to give up my pipe! :) )
True, BuckarooDave3âŠ. I just needed the caveat so that if the bluster I said about giving up my favorite Peterson came to fruition, I would have an âoutâ. :)
(Buckaroo)Dave(3) and BrdshttâŠ. what would you speculate may be the âpaymentâ Mr. Gray will want in return for all his efforts? I have thought of a variety of different â50âs Film-noirâ style of required payments⊠but have had difficulty trying to think of any that have a comedic edge to them (which I still tend to think would be the likely path Greg would choose). So, I would enjoy hearing your speculations about how this Mr. Grey may extract payment⊠especially without the story arc getting too âdarkâ.
Art GalleryâŠ. yayyyy⊠Iâm guessing we have a week and a half to go (max) long enough for Zebo to show up and for some of the Quill-Pru melodrama to rear up again, and of course I wonder about this show; it canât just be swept under the rug..
Maybe Mr. Gray is like that âSecret Santaâ guy who shows up around this time every year and hands out $100 bills to total strangers that he sees struggling to pay for what they want to buy in storesâŠ
Also Crystal & Knute, Lu & Qu, Mr Gray & Mrs G, Tiff & Piro, Bern (just friends) with G-man, Toni & Brad, TJ & Mrs. Horner, Delta and some WDC rising star. Theyâll draw numbers for places in line at the mistletoe.
To answer your questions (with whole hearted speculation that may sometimes be âtongue-in-cheekâ):1. Because Mrs. Berger has no money for him to steal, he must be dating her because he actually likes her. Why would he throw that away by trying to screw over her friends?Maybe Grey is a part of the Witness Protection Program because he snitched on some fellow Mafia typesâŠ. but he cannot control his urges to be a âheavyâ and in âcontrolâ. It would seem he does like Mrs. Berger for real, but maybe he is having trouble changing?2. If heâs rich, why didnât he just create The Fuse himself? He did pretty much all the work. He knows how to run a business. If heâs rich he could create a chain of businesses and be rich on the level. The WPP idea would fit here as well. Perhaps he isnât rich⊠perhaps he just has a lot of âconnectionsâ that he cannot seem to control himself from getting into contact with again. Perhaps what the end game will be that his getting back into the âbusinessâ and getting involved again with his âpartnersâ will lead to his very harsh, graphic, and tragic demise? 3. Did he move to San Diego and play a long con for a year in hopes that someone, somewhere would start a business, let him run it, and then hope to fleece them?Again the WPP idea could work at explainingâŠ. perhaps Grey is psychologically in turmoil over his âratting outâ his other Mafia buddies that he is now acting outâŠ. and rebelling against the protection afforded him? 4. The Fuse doesnât sound profitable at all, and both the DeGroots and TJ appear to be tapped out financially. You canât squeeze blood from a turnip. What exactly is he going to hassle them for?It may be that he âlivesâ to hassle⊠with his Mafia history, he may find it a compulsion!Again, please realize I find it fun to speculate wildly, and I mean these ideas mostly âtongue-in-cheekâ.
Iâll see if I can boot up my home computer when I get there; was up all night with the Geek Squad because I got a strange message from Micromean about how I was gonna be without email if I didnât download a million thingsâŠ
Mr. Gray informs the DeGroots he intends to propose to Ms. Berger, and wants them to host the wedding reception at The Fuse as their gift to the couple.-âââââââââ-Now that makes sense.
âWe will discover that not only does Zebo have an affinity for art, but also for antiquesâŠâ^LOL! And being that sheâs been in a volcano for a while (Shady Acres is the community across from Aaronâs house, there), he can get away with saying he thinks sheâs âhotââŠ.
Yup⊠(in the rear booth at the restaurant:) âThis favor I shall remember at a later timeâŠand when I doâŠI shall expect it shall be done. Capisce?â

I still wonder what Pruâs âholiday showâ was like, though. Even knowing the title might suggest something more about her.
