I’m offended, that you are offended ma’am. =The one thing that is consistent with some of these comments, conservatives really have no idea what a liberal thinker is. Much is due to being force fed a bizarre interpretation that any thinking or reasonable person could never accept, and yet they do. It is a truly strange thing.

I’m with Cap’n Eddie, I refuse to go on Facebook.My husband uses it to spy on our kids and assorted relatives!

Taking offence is a choice. It is like stabbing yourself and blaming someone else. It allows other people to control you, because you display a weakness. They can press your button and you behave in a predictable way.

I think it’s possible for both liberals and conservatives to find the petty slights of the hypersensitive to be ridiculous.

Many conservatives (see Fox News) have fully embraced the concepts of “I’m offended” and “I’m the victim here”. So the behavior is not “liberal” or “conservative”, just the details.

I’m offended by the comments on here and demand that you fire the football coach to make my life less stressful. Now get out of my safe place or I will call some muscle to remove you.

There are hundreds of cultures in this country and thousands of sub cultures, and I am not responsible for their “delicate” feelings. So if I offend someone accidentally I’m NOT sorry. (and I don’t do it on purpose)

I used to think I was a liberal, but after reading Lawrence Goodwin’s “Democratic Promise”, I find I am a populist. Unfortunately, the corporate media has made sure few know what populism is, yet it is the most easily defined: take the Cleburne and Ocala Demands plus the Omaha Platform, and update them (direct election of senators to direct election of president, votes for women to equal rights for women, etc.). And I am offended that the corporate media has defined it as any demigog appealing to popular prejudice.

Sometimes it’s fun just to comment and then watch what happens!

It always has been.It is very common among humans to put aside all the complications of reality and view the world in the clear and pristine logic of their own minds, arranging it all so it makes perfect sense, and then attempting to implement their fully thought out ideals in the real world.It is not the objective reality thwarting their achievement of the desired perfection, though. It is the idiotic ideologies, or idiologies of their rivals, blocking and obstructing The Dream.

A couple of folks are getting the right idea: all typed communication is too impersonal to be sure of the feelings or spirit of the typer. In the absence of full understanding of those feelings or intents, the reader often brings their own feelings to the matter…to everyone’s surprise.

There seems to be a number of people posting here who denigrate people they define as liberal. Here is the definition of the word. Kindly explain to me why you are so afraid of people described as such:
