Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
âStill there will be a lot of medical bills. Do you have insurance, or will you be able to pay cash?ââNo, weâre insolvent. See? âInsolventâ. Get it? Because⊠oh, never mind.â
It must be quite a while after the wreck. Delâs been taken to the hospital, examined, leg put in cast, handcuffed to bed, etc. And Mrs. Bader has no idea there was a fatality? Not possible. Unless by âother driverâ she means the man or woman driving the pick-up.
They are hanginâ Danny Deever, they are marchinâ of âim round,They âave âalted Danny Deever by âis coffin on the ground;Anâ âeâll swing in âarf a minute for a sneakinâ shootinâ houndâO theyâre hanginâ Danny Deever in the mornin!â
The pickup driver was a joyriding alien, who has been teleported back to the mothership and successfully treated for a dislocated tentacle. Xzslx was unable to stop because, being unfamiliar with earth vehicles, he hit the defroster instead of the brakes.
P3- Eric LaSalle makes a cameo in Milford. Apologies to Globetrotter great Curly Neal, describing him as late and great. Thankfully, Curly is merely great.
But wait, isnât Del âunder arrestâ and HANDCUFFED to the bed? Wouldnât that give Mrs. Bader a slight clue about the seriousness of the accident? And speaking of clues, hereâs a big clue as to how to read todayâs Mopped Up Thorp. You just click on the link.
In all reality , the Badderâs donât have the Milford Messenger delivered , listen to Marty in the Morning or watch Hello Milford hosted by Holly and donât read school E Blasts. Wonâ t Barry be surprised today ,let the beatings begin .
Del will now be one of those guys who gets to join AA while in prison. it will also be a condition of his release that he attend meetings and he will have to have the meeting chair sign his sheet to prove he was at a meeting. Of course, he wonât remember a thing about the accident, cow judge or not. Tally ho!
Driver 2 is just as liable due to negligence. He shouldâve been able to see Booâs car in enough time to stop. If not, he was outdriving his headlights (going too fast for conditions). Accident reconstruction based on expertise and the data in the carâs chip memory would be able to determine where his braking started, his vehicleâs road speed and speed at impact. But none of that is salient because Boo is ⊠(snif) ⊠Boo ⊠is ⊠(snif) ⊠Boo is DEAD, dammit.
The only interesting character ever in the whole strip and now sheâs DEAD. Rubin and Whigham should be the ones on trial.
Ode to a Mudlarkby Percy Bysshe Shelley (more or less)
Hail to thee, Booâs Spirit!Beloved thou never wert -
That from Heaven or near itPourest thy full heaterIn profuse strains upon the batterâs helmit.Higher still and higherFrom the earth thou threatens,Like a cloud of fire; The blue Jeep thou did wringest from Dad,And Daddyâs co-signing still dost owe, and owing ever stingest. In the golden lightningOf the sunken sun,Oâer which clouds are brightâning,Thou dost hit and run,Like an unbodied toy whose race is just begun,..um,âŠer, âŠended.Three verses of Blah, blah, blah we skippest
What thou art we know not; What is most like thee? From rainbow clouds there flow notDrops so bright to see,As from thy presence showers a rain of mediocrity: -Hark, we now skipest all the way to the endBetter than all the nick names of delightful sound, Better than all treasures that in THAT book are found, If Thy name was for the characTER, they would have called you⊠WAL..TER.
Del should be charged with drunk driving but not killing Boo. But then she may have died before the pickup hit her. They have to let us know about the pickup driver.
Del might be subject to the felony murder rule. If his drunk driving was a felony, and Booâs death occurred in the course of it (which it did), he could be charged with murder.
My preferred outcome for this scenario: âIn the name of Robert of House Baratheon, first of his name, king of the Andals and the first men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, I, Eddard of House Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, do sentence you to die.â

And another day goes by without the driver of the pickupâs being identified and without our knowing whether he lived or died.

This isnât a very modern hospital Grand Master Bader is in. If this was in set in the current century those clipboards would be tablets.
If those two in P3 think heâs in trouble now, wait âtil Mrs. Bader gets ahold of him.

So if he doesnât know the status of the other driver, why is he handcuffed to the bed? where are the cops?

Maybe the pickup was an unmanned drone?

Itâs a metaphor. Boo had lots of issues but sheâd die before being known as an easy pick-up.
