Skin doctor is the easiest visit by far. They just look at you. Unless you have a funny looking mole. That they’ll remove. Takes two minutes.

Why do most married men die before their spouses? Because they want to! (Love that joke!)

More and more this convinces me that I really would rather live alone in my old age…. or with a group of women.

The statistics are high with the deaths by nag.

Brian, I really enjoy your artwork and coloring and many of your comics have very good humor, But this story line is wearing thin for me. You have Opal say one thing showing concern about Earl’s health and then have him make a cruel crack about being nagged to death? Not humor.

my wife saw a spot on my leg many years ago that I did not notice, and it turned out to be cancer, I would not be here today if she did not notice it.

I don’t know what it is with men and medicine. Hubby seems to think hat if his ulna is hanging out of his arm, it’s only a flesh wound. If a band aid won’t cover it, he’ll use duct tape.

Men almost always die first. Coincidence? I don’t think so. A nagging wife? I think so.

I was thinking these past few days about the misuse of statistics..Let us say someone says one group is twice as likely to be in trouble with authorities than another group as a percentage of population, but the second group is more than twice as likely to be in poverty than the first group..If crime were caused by poverty (which it isn’t, but we are just saying “if”), then the higher rate for the second group would be lower than expected based on the poverty rate..Further, if the most usual cause of trouble was refusal to obey the rules, and the reason for poverty was related to comply with employer rules or laws, then the cause of the problem might not be because of the group identity, or the group poverty, but to the common group of people not following rules..Case in point: Earl does not comply with Opal’s rules and Earl often gets in trouble with Opal, is it because he is a man? Or is it because he breaks her rules?.A surface viewing of the statistics would imply Opal just had it in for Earl, but digging deeper would tell the truth.

My thanks forever to the doctor seven years ago who, when my kid came in for something else entirely, had a bad feeling about that mole and insisted on biopsying it. That mole had been there a long time. And… It was a particularly aggressive variety of melanoma—caught in the first two weeks, so early that they only had to do surgery. It’s not a disease of old age: my kid was 27 years old at the time.

Earl is lucky. He could have married Hyacinth Bucket.I wouldn’t have convicted poor Richard if he’d suffocated her one night. For those wondering, check imdb for “Keeping Up Appearances.”
