Just delete the Facebook app. They’ll listen then.

I don’t do facebook. Or twitter. Or snapchat. Or any of the other things people “do” online, except e-mail, and I only check that once in a while.

Well, I’ve got facebook, and you know what? I actually like it! No, I do NOT post every single minute of my life, nor do I spend 8 hours a day on it. I’ve got about 50 friends, ALL of which I’ve met face to face. I find it’s a great way to keep in touch with friends and family (yes, I DO call them and visit them also). As in so much of life, it’s all a matter of balance. ..(Smug look)

Facebook: We have needs that outweigh your wants. Now bend over and take it like a pig.

Although I’m not on Facebook, I can understand the interest for some people. But surely checking it can wait until you get home to the computer. Anyway, I’ve deleted other apps from my phone because turning off notifications didn’t work.

Apps? Smartphone? What are these things? (smug look)

I do visit that social networking site, and it does cause me to grumble at times (mostly because no matter how often I switch to “most recent” they want my newsfeed to be their “most important,” or whatever the term is for their revenue-generator)….

I admit that I’ m with everyone here who sees NO value is Fecebook, etc.Had a young woman working for me in a political campaign…back when it started. She was showing ALL.Took her about six hours a day. And then I saw a piece on early wiki about ‘how many accounts on F.book the employees of a certain company were REQUIRED to read and summarize DAILY’…at which point I argued with friends who wanted to put an account for me on the Screw-over FB.

Yes, I have friends and acquaintances who would like to see something entertaining from me once in a while. Ain’t going on Facebook, ever.

I have FB, but refuse to install Messenger, even though they keep asking me to.

    .

They have a specific way they want you to use their software that meets their marketing needs. They will allow you to overrule that and use it your own way. But if you do, they keep changing it back, and making you correct it again and again and again. It’s infuriating.

I hear you! I made the mistake of setting up a quick account with no personal info or pics just to see what FB was. Did not think it was worth anything, & deleted the account. Years later, I get notifications to find out, you can never be forgotten by FB. I have tried to get out of their idiotic, communistic data base & cannot. Citizens have a right to be forgotten by these huge tech companies.

Yeah, and WHY does it always revert to “top stories” instead of “most recent”? I don’t want to see old stuff, just whatever’s new that people post!

Unfortunately, many HR departments look for and review the social media accounts of applicants. If you don’t have one, they presume that you are “anti-social” and/or lack computer fundamentals.

I can waste all my time without resorting to Facebook, Twitter, etc. What gets me is when I want to do something on certain sites, they want me to sign in to Facebook first. Screw that. They just lost my participation and/or money.

I was on Facebook briefly. I was quickly reminded that there was a pretty good reason I lost contact with almost all of my high school and college classmates, which is that I have almost nothing in common with them. Near the end, I had muted updates from most of my “friends”, and I’m pretty sure they had muted me.

Facebook has been kind to me….gives me a chance to say hello to many of my cousins back East, my family, people from my classmates from high school and many of my friends. We wish each other happy birthday, congratulate each other for the good stuff that happens to us all, commiserate on the bad, let’s me know which one of my cousins or friends are sick, etc. Facebook also is a program that you have to monitor yourself with because it can make you happy, sad, exasperated and has a tendency to take up a lot of your time if you let it.

Well Pig, Facebook ignores your needs because you are not the customer, you are the product. Someone is paying good money to have their crap put in front of your eyeballs and Facebooks isn’t about to disappoint them.

That is the problem with Facebook. They want to be your life. If you don’t sign out they will keep you signed in.
