What a contorted discombobulation!

But, Bernice, what about Piro? It’s not like he’s going to be at the bowling alley, will see you with Nil, and suddenly decide you’re the one he wants…

It will probably be a huge miscommunication. Bernice will think that the double date will be Luann and Jack along with her and Piro. So she will bring Piro to the bowling alley where Luann, Jack, and Emo are waiting.

Yo Jack? Just go barefoot and bowl on Your tip toes “Fred Flintsone” Style!

How does asking if Bernice will go bowling with Nil turn into “Sure. Double-date w/Jack. Tonite?” What we don’t see is the text that Luann sent to Bernice. It could have been:

1.Why is it that guys who barely know you want to go out with you? This guy in the art class with me and Jack, Nil, who only met you one time, wants to go bowling with you. Can you believe it?

2.You hate bowling don’t you?

3.This guy in art class wants to go out with you and he talked to me to ask you out. Do you know that I feel like your pimp?

4.Are you done with your classes for this semester and do you want to go bowling with me and Jack? Jack has a guy for you and he’s a gum-chewer.

5.Remember how you promised Gunther you would help him inventory his collection of classic sewing needles unless something better came up? Well, something better has come up. Interested?

She gave up on Piro real quick, didn’t she?

Are we sure that Bernice realizes that the person who wants to bowl on the double date is Nil? The third panel makes that a bit unclear. She might think she needs to arrive with someone, possibly Piro, since she has his number. Bernice answered the text referencing Jack, and recall the arc started with them talking about Jack and Piro, the kiss and all that preceded that. And it’s Monday, so it’s possible that Nil might get disappointed.

Actually, I’m impressed with Nil. He wanted a date and had a suggestion, too. That’s becoming a lost skill. Kudos for Bernice accepting.

Doesn´t mean Luann asked more if she wanted bowling – not that she mentioned Nil.

I just turned 60 a few minutes ago. I don’t feel much different… :)

I am just enjoying the “falling in love” experience that these young characters are experiencing. Yup it was a hard time, but it was an interesting and also partly a fun time.

Funny how Luann says she can’t speak for Bernice…but then, in the third panel….she spoke for Bernice…of course, though, Bernice lets everyone know that she isn’t ‘spoken for’. At least, right now.

Somehow I thought Jack was taller?

Hmmmm . . so what, is she playing the field now? I thought she craved Piro. Or has she decided to see other people so as to objectively assess each kiss and compare it with Piro’s unsatisfactory one.

Suck it up, Jack. Gutter balls are easy.

For those of you who are wondering why Bernice would agree to a date ‘so soon’ after all the other stuff. Maybe she is just trying to not overthink it, and go with the flow’ instead of pltting all kinds of convoluted ways to make things happen.

Having binocular vision probably helps with bowling. Nil relies on monocular vision but bowling was just a pretext anyway.

Bowling was more fun when u had to learn and go to keep score. Anyone ever bowl in Canada? They have 6 pins, smaller balls with no holes and you get 3 tries each lane.

Bernice is asking a Question about the double date. Luann can simply answer “No, just you and Nil will be bowling”.

I wouldn’t go out with a man who had to have someone else ask me out. That was okay in 7th grade, but not for adults.

Good for Bernice. She went with it, and didn’t over analyze.

If standard drama/comedy constructs hold in this case, I think it is very likely we may find that Piro happens to have a part-time job at the bowling alley.

I hope that Bernice does not choose between Piro and Nil quickly. I could see this (and would like this) being a long term arc that keeps reappearing every few weeks for a year or better.

Okay…squeezing in here. [Zooop!] There. Now I’m 106. Oh, look, it’s Nil, Luann, Jack and Eye! LOL.

Happy Birthday!

There are always more comments in here than likes on the panel itself. People are much too involved. The story line is interesting, the charactors are evoving nicely, and things tend to work out so why is there so much bickering?

Bern is through with Piro. She wasn’t feeling him. This whole Jack and Luann thing just doesn’t sit right with me. Their couple sum is just not adding up. But then again when Brad and Toni first started out, I didn’t have much faith in that working. But if this is the way its going, Jack’s gonna need some real character development.

I know, Bernice misunderstood and was commenting that she wanted Luann to pick up a double-date danish with jack cheese, tonite!

I am surprised that Jack doesn’t like bowling. Maybe he’s found that it is not part of his athletic skill set….

Bernice is probably eager to see if she feels anything for another guy. She is confused as to why she felt nothing from Piro’s kiss. Though I suspect the reason is it was no romantic. Piro was only thanking her for being willing to face trouble on his account. I think he only sees her as a friend.
