Since Michael is going all Charlie Brown on us, it does seem appropriate that he imitates the classic Charlie Brown “nose in the air and nothing but mouth while screaming” pose that was so commonly used in the Peanuts comic strip.
This seems like a different side of Mike that we’re just now seeing. He kind of acted like a clown, but Lynn by this point starts pushing to make him one of the more sensitive characters.
I hope Michael’s feeling doesn’t continue into adulthood like mine. I still get the feeling that wherever I’m invited that they would have a better time if I hadn’t been invited and I wish I hadn’t ! !
This was me as a child and young adult. I’m now in my 60s, and I thank the heavens every day for how wonderful my life is and for the joy I feel. – - – Thank you for this strip.
Here is the flip side argument; if they used Michael for a prank and the dink was a fink to his mom, then they are not really his friends. It is better to be a loner than be with people who would use you.

Reminds me where Calvin yells to the night sky, “I’M SIGNIFICANT!” followed by a more calm, “screamed the dust speck.”

And they’re over there, Michael. Get the point?

Come on, Michael, stop feeling sorry for yourself and go join the gang around the campfire.

Quite the pity party, Mike. Indulge, and then get over it!

Lynn’s Notes:
I got a lot of mail on this one. There are a lot of lonely people out there. In school, surrounded by people my own age, I considered myself lonely.

Sure I feel quite alone in a crowded room. Just not good at meeting people and if you are not then you will have far more problems an if you can.

Most people feel that way, Mike. Most of us do. And it doesn’t stop when you grow up.

He’ll be fine. He’s just an angsty teenager. Doesn’t anyone remember what it was like to be a teen?
