nice scroll Burt :) Ever the gentleman Puck, how unfortunate that your chart is at home. I’m sure many cats would agree with the first definition of v-e-t though.
Well. If the vet is treating a case of fleas or parasites, he or she could be called a vermin elimination technician. Or if administering preventatives against future infestations, change “elimination” to “exclusion.”
First time I took Sebastian to the, I’m sitting on the seat in the corner, holding him. He crawls up my shoulder and slips behind me. When the Vet came in, I told her that he’s hiding. She starts looking around and I said, he’s hiding behind me. I know my current vet like Sebastian way better than Vlad. They use to send birthday cards, but not anymore, must have changed managements. The last two times I was there, I only saw the tech, not the vet. I don’t like that.
Ok, have to ask-is the eagle tamer scroll a reference to how Pucky lost a leg ? Or am I reading too much into it? That was my first reaction when I saw it associated with Puck-who is, we all know, a mighty warrior on three paws.
My dog has a chronic condition and sees the vet a LOT – should be every 3 months, but we have it to every 6 with updates via the interwebs. Those cats are lucky they are healthy and only see a vet (Vocal Energetic Tackler) once a year. The cats should be in and out of there (with treats) pretty quick!
I love Pucky’s face in the last panel! He’s so cute… AAAND I want to see that chart, too. When you guys are back home, roll it up and tell us all about V.E.T.s!!!
Good vet story- a former coworkers daughter has a cat who is getting on in years. Also received some head trauma as a kitten (prior to the daughter adopting the cat). Some time ago she developed a massive urinery tract infection. Daughter is a waitress and money is tight. The vet bills were becoming overwhelming. A very expensive surgery MIGHT help. Because of the cat’s age and her income she made the decision to have her put down. Broke her heart, but she simply was unable to provide the care needed. Understand, this is a small town and there are no alternatives for intense car. The shelter here just kills them. Any way, the vet kept the cat. She will do the surgery herself and take her home. One of the many reasons i love my vet!
Had to find a vet outside my small city because none would do off-hours emergencies. James Herriott & Dr. Pol vets getting scarce. One of my kitties suffered a painful death because I was expected to drive her over 25 miles on a weekend night to a place I’d never been. Did not make it in time. I looked for a compassionate vet before I adopted another kitty! Still seething and always will!
Our vet really is a Voracious Eagle Tamer, or at least an eagle rescuer. Besides her vet clinic she runs a wildlife rescue. There’s no telling who you might meet when you go to her clinic: hawk, cougar cub & baby squirrels are some of the critters I’ve met there, besides the usual pups and cats.

Someone should figure out what other evil instrument of torture starts with “V” coincidence? I do not think so!

Hmm. I can’t help but wonder if Lupin is currently on the vet’s table.
