I love the cat of adventure casual look, with the shirt open and tie not tied. Such detail. Doesn’t look like a drawer, but the cupboard. Must have found a way from the drawer to the cupboard. Our cats will explore everywhere.
bentley used to get into or behind the kitchen drawers, i didn’t know how he got back there. later i saw how he could get into the cabinets himself. he’d reach up and put his paws on the top of the cabinet door, standing on his back legs. then he’d walk backwards. he was then able to get in to explore or nap at his leisure. it was the funniest thing to watch!
One of our cats found a way to escape the bathroom where we’d feed her when she was a baby and get in to the cabinets under the kitchen counter. We found a hole where the drain pipe from the bathroom sink went in to the wall.

From the looks of those pots and pans, he’s gone past the drawer and into a mystical cavern.

Woodgie, my cat, is too lazy to be a “Cat of Adventure”. She’s never tried to hide anywhere. As I said, a lazy cat.

When my son was a baby (MANY, Many, many) years ago, we lost our cat.
I spent the afternoon and evening looking in ALL the rooms, and Hubby walked the neighborhood in case she somehow got outside….
Bedtime for baby, in his room changing him into fresh diaper and “jammies”…
I opened the jammies drawer, and there she was- – -all comfy on the clean clothes.
She must have jumped in, and somehow I must have closed the drawer on her.
Five hours calling her and looking for her… not a peep. I’m just happy that I found her!

What you REALLY have to be careful about is dryers! Sometime a cat will investigate a warm dryer as a possible place to nap and get shut inside.

Apparently this strip was restarted a while back? I’ve gone back and read some of the early strips, and remember seeing this.
