Even after looking up “chitin,” I still don’t get the joke.

The exoskeletons of insects are made from chitin, and it looks as though he ran over the insect, but…..yeah, I’m not seeing a joke here. Especially since I see nothing that indicates he was “texting” at all.

Might be worthy of a nonplussed scowl if he had actually been doing anything resembling texting (or if — chitin or not — that beetle had even a remote chance of surviving being run over by a stone wheel). As it is, it’s not even worth that much.

Maybe time to revise the playlist.

Reminds me of an old joke: Q: What’s Armaddillo mean in Spanish? A: Speedbump.

Wonder if the bug is just doing what many accidents victims do: automatically assume the other driver was texting or phoning. Good way to deflect the blame from what was partly due to their own carelessness.

well there is a black mark on the wheel so he did run over said beetle.

Dear Mason, if you have to explain the joke, it’s not a good joke.

While the joke may be thin the message is still important.

Right in saying they cant all be winners. just try writing a good joke everyday for your whole career.

If you look close to the first 2 panels, you can see the beetle on the bottom of the wheel. That is probably what caused the wheel to wobble. Now what connection does this to do with texting & driving, I haven’t a clue.

For once, I agree with everyone else’s comments.

I came here hoping someone would explain the joke.

Chitin: a fibrous substance consisting of polysaccharides and forming the major constituent in the exoskeleton of arthropods and the cell walls of fungi.

It still doesn’t explain the “joke”, though.

When you try and explain the Joke and we still don’t get it. Well, it probably wasn’t funny to begin with!
