Hey… some posters recently have been right. Tiffany has been shrinking, and she’s looking more beautiful and alluring! She’ll have no trouble with Les.
The link below shows her when she first blimped. There’s quite a contrast. (And I noticed that there were 645 comments on that episode.)
http://www.gocomics.com/luann/2017/09/18
Very sorry about some few posters who want Tiff to remain rotund, to promote their PC agenda. But it seems that Tiff is well on her way to returning to her old (physical) self.
If it’s any consolation, though, I suspect that her newfound camaraderie with her long-time friends will be permanent. So it seems that the ordeal will, in fact, have some lasting benefit.
Of course, there’s one more possible development as well: Tiff may end up an item with Les after all, much to Gunther’s anguish.
Where are all those posters who were so sure that the only clothes Dez had were so-called ‘hippy’ clothes. Seems like Dez has a much greater variety in her wardrobe; these clothes look more like things Tiffany would normally wear…
Convergence! All the pieces are falling into place. This is Saturday, so there simply has to be a jump up over Sunday, which probably will be foible day (and I bet something funny with Frank and Nancy, but nothing to do with this, but I could be wrong to hedge) to Monday, when the battle starts in earnest. Tiffany and Ann, think about the sides, on Tiffany her self-respect, and her family, on Ann, her self-respect (as a grifter), her son, which in her sick way she cares about, and her family, which might include Les being a brother-in-law to Gunther, which goes back to Tiffany. Good golly Ms. Molly, as Little Richard liked to say in his famous song. Lets throw down!!!!
This arc is about lost family relationships I think. Ann wants her son back (or at least a relationship with him, grifter she is, and one she hopes he can become, maybe) . Tiffany wants her dad back, and wait until she, Tiffany realizes that Les and Ann are mother and son. That is the basis of this arc I think. Very dramatic Greg.
This time I agree with Bern. They DO need to tell Lu and Tara they got taken, the also need to inform the DeGroots so they can consult their lawyer and figure out how to break the contract Ann signed to hold the lingerie parties at the Fuze.
A better plan would be to let Tara (or even Luann) deal with Les and give Tiff a clear shot at Ann. If the girls really want to go in hard they could recruit a tough, feisty firefighter called DeGroot who has locked horns with Ann before and would welcome a second round (no, not Brad, Toni).
Of course the sensible thing would be to tell Frank and Nancy who would go to the authorities, but since when has sense ruled the Luanniverse?
I must say I like the new, nicer and much more mature Tiffany. I don’t care whether she’s cuddly or skinny.
Tiff looks pretty hot in that jacket. However Tiff is not known for making good plans. In the past, none of them have worked. Nevertheless, we are all interested to see how this shakes out.
They do need to tell the DeGroots if possible criminal activity is taking place at their property. What if one of the other attendees figures out they got ripped off? There were a lot of women there. One of them might call the cops.
Well, an arc we definitely want to see continued! As stated, I do hope that Tiff gets to enact her revenge against Ann Eiffel before they have to notify the DeGroots, Al Gray, and the authorities. Glad Tiff is making a comeback. Hope she’ll come out of this with a few “reconciled” friends, and her dad. We’ll see.
A crime has been discovered, and the DeGroots may be liable for complicity, since it took place on their property! Hadn’t Bernice, Tiff, and Des better call the cops immediately and report Ann’s misdeed, so that the DeGroots can get off the hook as having been duped rather than being part of the scheme? No, of course not. Instead, they should devise a stupid “revenge” plot (that somehow hinges on Ann’s not throwing Tiffany out of the party as soon as she sees her, which is what would happen in real life). While this scheme is being planned, of course, some other scammed customers may call the cops, and the DeGroots will be arrested as accomplices. Hilarity ensues!
Since the next party isn’t due for a month, is Tiff planning to regain her former physical appearance before then? Greg obviously knows what she looked like the last time she flirted with Les.
I see a dark shadow here for Les. How will he react to being manipulated by Tiff? Will he regress into his nasty persona? He will have been rejected by the last two women he’s made overtures at. Or will his new relationship with the Berger family continue his mellowing process?
I wonder how far in advance Greg (and now his daughter) plan out the future lives of the characters?
@LUANN1212 I wonder where Gunther is in all this? Greg (and now his co-author daughter) has never portrayed Gunther as much more than a friend with Tiff. Tho’ they’ve had some steamy arcs in the past. The question is whether Gunther is more interested in getting his mama back from Mr. Gray. I have a nagging suspicion that the Evans writing team is flirting with a Gunther/TJ hookup in the not too distant future. We’ll get some hint when Tiff starts “handling” Les and how much strife that causes within the Berger family. YIKES!
It doesn’t sound like anyone knows that Ann and Les are related. Where do Les’s loyalties with his mother or the money or with his, for a lack of a better term, friends. I think Uncle Al, before all is said and done, will take a hand.
Bernice, Tiffany, and Des now know that a scam has been committed, but they don’t tell anyone, including Luann (whose family owns the business where the crime was committed). If the cops learn about this from some other scammed customer, wouldn’t it seem that Bern and crew were trying to protect Luann by failing to report the scam? The way to establish that the DeGroots weren’t part of the scheme is for them to report it to the cops themselves, before someone else does!
I honestly DON’T like that Look Tiffany has in Panel #3 nor Her “I can Control Les,” statement. Is that look saying Tiff has confidence in Her “plan” or is it saying that She’s looking forward to seeing Les again?
And Remember, Tiffany COULDN’T Control Les In High School and She NEEDED Ox to Chase Him off. So what makes Her so darn sure She can control Him, THIS time around?? Now, Couple THAT with fact that the last Time Tiff went up against Ann (10/30/2012) She BOMBED Miserably. And Apparently Tiff’s gonna do all this ALONE, and Not Take the Tara, Luann and Dez, the ladies that were ripped off?
Tiff thinks She’s gonna “Sweet talk” Her way IN but the only “Sweet Talking” will be Les getting Tiff’s Phone AND Dorm Number and Ann Sweet Talking Tiff out of any sort of action, the way She talked Pru into renting the Fuse for practically NOTHING.
Oh, there May be future “Marathons” in Tiff’s Dorm Room. But with the THUG around, they Won’t involve “Star Trek….,”
The lingerie show can’t possible have enough demand to happen every week. So it will be at least 2 weeks or longer until the next show. That’s a long time for everyone to wait and keep quiet. And plenty of time for Ann to skip town.
Luann, Tara, and Des just spent a lot of money as a threesome, buying fake lingerie. Des now knows this. And she doesn’t alert the other two members of the group that they’ve been had, too? And Bern now knows that a major fraud operation has been conducted in a business owned by her best friend’s parents, and she doesn’t alert her that the cops may be busting down the door soon and hauling everyone away in handcuffs? Sure. Sure.
I suspect that being able to put aside more shallow foci will allow Tiffany to grow as a person. Her weight gain was stress related and from how she is drawn, depending on factors like height and level of muscularity (since muscle weighs a lot) i suspect her weight is maybe 150 pounds +/- 20 pounds from past strips i figure most likely 145 +/- 5 but these are obviously just guesses.
The important thing is that she can move her focus to things which are more important than looking like a potential trophy wife.
It all makes me wonder how she will change as an individual due to the freedom that her weight gain provides.
Tiffany looks nice, more elegant and mature in Dez’s clothes (vs. the kind that she used to wear (cheap hustler outfits), and the extra pounds are less noticable.
Keeps getting dumber. This is fraud. She’s clearly collected thousands of dollars fraudulently. That’s a felony. Instead of going to the DeGroots and the police, the idea is a college woman is going to handle it on her own — when Ann Eiffel in jail would be much more appealing to Tiffany than any silly revenge. The whole story line smashes through willing suspension of disbelief.
I like that Tiffany is becoming friendly w/ Dez and Bernice. It’s good that Luann isn’t part of this Mooney crowd so the former bad blood between Luann and Tiffany isn’t there to chafe at the relationship.

(All she wants…) Ooh, a little reaction (just enough)… She’s just using her feminine charms on a Les-than-Typical Male. On a Les-than-Typical Male…" ♬
Why does Des tell Bern that Les Knox isn’t in on the scam? How could she possibly know that? Just because he was acting as the doorkeeper, and he wasn’t inside the room, that certainly doesn’t mean that he didn’t know what was going on inside there.
I see two problems here. One, Les might not be as controllable by the heftier Tiffany. Two, the fact that none of them know of Les’ connection to Ann could come back to bite them.
